All of the glowing photography reviews of the Pixel 8, but like… is the camera app laggy af for anyone else? It’s kind of hard to capture good photos of moving subjects if the preview runs at 1FPS and you can only take two photos every ten seconds.
I have seen the reports about the #Pixel8 running hot. I did not have that problem until I logged into IFTTT app and let it run in background.
When I realized what was different from when phone wasn't warm, I turned off the background setting. Sure enough, the phone was no longer warm to the touch.
BTW, turned on background setting again to verify, and WARM again.
YMMV, etc., but good chance an app may be causing that problem if you have it.

@kuketzblog Bitte wenn möglich ebenfalls auch irgendwann Aspekte wie wahlweise Installation von #PlayStore Apps (ich bin leider auf Manches von dort angewiesen inkl. gelockter Bootloader dafür) und die Nutzung der original #GCam (egal wie installiert) zwecks optimaler Ausnutzung der super Kamera (ohne Cloud) ausführen.
Da bin ich mir bei #GrapheneOS als auch #ClayxOS (mein aktueller Favorit) noch unschlüssig.

I have a state-of-the-art smartphone ( #Pixel8 ), state-of-the-art Bluetooth earphones (Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2), and yet if I put my phone in my jeans pocket, a mere 70cm away from the earbuds, the stream stops working properly and audio starts skipping. It drives me nuts!
What am I doing wrong? How can I debug this? Is there a way to select maybe a lower bandwidth for the audio stream or something?
Whenever I click on a notification on #Android 14 (on my brand new #Pixel8 running #GrapheneOS), it takes about half a second to react and actually open the app. I can't believe that a piece of hardware released 8 weeks ago is already slow, so I'm wondering if there is an option somewhere that may create this behavior? Maybe something related to the animations?
There are more positives than negatives in replacing my S22 Ultra with a Pixel 8 Pro, but the one nearly unforgivable sin is that Google doesn't let you set a charge cap. You think this is a phone designed to last 7 years? Not if people are keeping their battery at 100% all the time it isn't. #android#pixel#pixel8
💩 Google ne donne aucun plan d'action, aucune annonce, au sujet du bug de la mise à jour Android 14 qui bloque totalement leur propre ligne de smartphone (ça touche au moins Pixel 6 et Pixel 7 selon les retours, Pixel 8 peut-être ?).
Si même le développeur d'Android fait de la merde avec ses propres modèles, ça me donne encore moins confiance dans l'OS.
On n'est pas gâtés avec ce Pixel 6. Déjà que le GPS était bien pourri, inutilisable et dangereux pour de la conduite… Quelle déception. :grr:
Having used the #pixel8 for sometime now. I can confidently say I absolutely love this device. This coming from my considerably long jaunt using an iPhone.
I'm now more convinced than ever, if Android is to take the lead for real, we need better / world class 3rd party apps.
Google is doing its fair share. I take native apps like Calculator, Clock, even the Settings on Android and can say it's better than on iOS. I can say that of almost none of the third party apps.
I went to a local electronics store this evening to see whether they had the #pixel8 and #pixel8pro in stock. Unfortunately, the 8 Pro wasn't there but it was very good to get a real hands-on impression of the 8. Size-wise the Pixel 8 feels perfect and is very close to the 4-year old Pixel 3a I currently use. It was also easy to notice that the build quality is two or three steps above the 7a that the store also had on display. So now I'm sold and will order the Pixel 8 over the weekend. :-)
Smartphone Hüllen und Bike Mounts... Hatte Quadlock seit Jahren. Hat mir gute Dienste geleistet. Problem war immer: Montagepunkt finden, der Quarter Turn erlaubt (zwischen Aerobars etc.). Da das Zeug ziemlich hochpreisig ist wollte ich die aktuellen Nachlässe nutzen. #sp-connect baut bei meinem Setup leider etwas zu hoch auf, wäre sonst eigentlich auch weit auf der Liste gestanden.
