Is one of your #NewYearsResolutions to increase the #diversity of #climate experts you interact with, either to collaborate with on new research, to invite to talks or panels, or to suggest to journalists when providing insights to the media? Well, Ayesha Tandon is here to help, as she celebrates one year and 1000 scientists in the #GlobalSouth Climate Database on the #EGUblogs!
Want to go vegan but… it is not going so great? Then the vegan cheat sheet might help! It lists a bunch of resources (everything from online communities, to podcasts, recipes, sources for inspiration and info about nutrition….). Or feel free to ask me, I'm happy to help!

As @emptywheel reminds us. Break up the text of #TFG 's #socialmedia posts, even when debunking them. Because if you repeat a lie over & over it might be considered a "fact, " like this joke.
New year’s #resolutions are easy to make, but tricky to stick with. But you're not alone on the journey! Let's build a community to keep each other motivated by sharing our goals, progress and challenges 💪

I want to meditate 5 days a week. Focussing less on total minutes and more on regular practice in 2024.
Further, I would love to meditate before picking up my phone in the morning. With Zenitizer's Shortcuts support, I can just ask my HomePod to "meditate with Zenitizer" to start a phone-free session. I just need to actually do it more regularly ☺️
I should’ve added “Finally get a Mac laptop that I know is too expensive but will save me money in the long run rather than replacing Windows laptops so often” to my #newyearsresolutions, but I’ll lump that in with ‘Make better money.’
As it’s just over 6 hours until 2024 (CST time zone here), let’s see what everyone’s New Year’s Resolutions are?
For me, I’m wanting to continue to be the best person, friend, dad that I can be. I also want to continue to learn the most I can in the tech industry, something that never stops, that will help me in my career for the long term.
I'm not sure if energy will suffice and if I'll stick to it, but given the nature of #NewYearsResolutions today, I'm planning to launch two series: #BetterOnline and #BetterEating. Feel free to follow or mute accordingly. 😉
For each, I plan to make one post a month with a small change that might help someone in regards to two areas I feel reasonably comfortable in.
The byte-sized bits could help making small changes into the “right” direction throughout the year. Feedback always welcome. 😅
If you're thinking about New Year's Resolutions, I'd encourage adding read books from more countries to yours. It's the best non-fitness resolution I've ever done.
I realized I was reading a lot of fairly similar books that were almost entirely from Australia, UK or America so I set out to expand my horizons. This year my reading included Singaporean short stories about cats, a Danish guide to happiness, Liberian magic realism, Trinidadian YA, nature writing from the Faeroe Islands, Ukrainian poetry, South African romance and more. I also added books from a few not quite countries like a memoir about Bougainville's journey to become a country and a collection of essays from scientists working in Antarctica.
It's been magic to see the world from so many different angles and to spend time discovering places I'll mostly never get to visit in person. The world seems bigger and more interesting now. It's a goal I plan to keep going in 2024 with books from even more countries.
