He uses generative AI to make it appear that he is performing this song at various times in his life while sitting at the same piano. I know AI usage for art is controversial, and for good reason, but in this case, everyone involved (i.e. just Billy Joel) gave consent for their likeness to be used to generate a piece of art showcasing Joel throughout his career playing the same song.
It's fascinating to watch with this haunting song.
