I'm known to be insufferably stuck in the past, so unlike normal #MiniaturePainting people who might strip and repaint their earlier figures, I'm going to paint a whole other copy of this #dwarf. I even happen to still have the rest of the square bases package that I used in 2012...
Exciting news! 🛡️🏰⚔️ Introducing the freshly painted Citadel Guard now up on my website! Feast your eyes on these formidable warriors ready to defend the realm:
Here is how I’m doing with Logray. Slowly been beavering away at him and making good progress. Just haven’t had the energy to actually take good enough pictures of him until today.
Had some time to work on the giant, which is nearing completion. The #Fedipaint entry I've had enough of so I'll wrap it up in the coming days and fuck it
On the up side, I've has the honour of playing an inaugural match in the school #WarhammerAlliance stadium.
I have finally finished the first marginalia model from the upcoming Hypersteel Nightmare range. Concept based on one of the illustrations by @CITIZEN_OCHOA, sculpted and painted by me.
Started on a lazy tartan on the #BloodBowl sporting giant but am unsure: abort or continue?
Also built two #gaslands cars at the school #WarhammerAlliance. And the kids working on the stadium have finished it! Now to encourage students to have us print teams they can paint and use!
Finally had everything I needed to dip a toe in airbrushing, and what better way to learn than priming? I used #vallejo primer, thinned with their thinner for black. Learned a bunch about technique and maintenance. Used #thearmypainter fanatic Matt White for the zenithal. It is so thick. Used thinner with it 50/50. Also learned you can’t mix the fanatic paint in the airbrush cup. Looking forward to trying speedpaint with the airbrush #miniaturepainting
Three Beastmen nearly done. Just waiting for the technical paint to dry, so I can finish the bases (may take until tonight at least, probably tomorrow).
I did a lot of happy reading this weekend, so it's okay that I haven't finished the Kakophonii and only got three Beastmen done. It's my hobby time, not a job. 😊
They are kind of Blanche-coloured. So maybe it's #FediPaint, too?
Wicket is nice and underway, mostly done now. Just the spearhead and straps to go for the most part, and a splodge of paint that I got on the hood that I only noticed during taking the pictures.
Going to be fun trying to fix that, but at least it’s a but of the model I enjoy painting the most.
The local game shop finally has all the old Army Painter paints on clearance ahead of getting the new range in so I got myself a handful. I know some people consider them low-quality and I've had those bad experiences too, but I believe in "get good at using what you've got" for budget reasons (and also I'm not aspiring to a level that justifies spending on "only the best").
I have a strong dislike for clear flight stands, so I do things like this.
This trio of Inceptors all have a handy piece of terrain to keep them at about the right height.
One is hopping a fence with the help of his jet-pack.
Another is landing on a box (and is lucky the box has crushed).
And the last is smashing his way though a wall.
Also of note is that I used 9 different metallic paints on these.
The wall is made of "mostly" separate bricks of plaster and foamcore.
Then pieces of broken plaster were placed individually to create the cracked plaster layer on each face of the wall.
