Within the 1.1 million acres that make up the #AntelopeComplex in #Nevada lives a herd of beautiful strong #WildHorses. — But for the past few years, the herd has been targeted by #helicopters.
When the helicopters descended on the herd in 2021, the horses ran as fast as they could away from its deafening roar. After over an hour of running, they were exhausted — especially the foals and the helicopters were funneling them into a trap.
1475 M€ to avoid 1+ M cattle and millions MtCO2eq/y is a bargain for the public. Farmers can earn the same while not doing anything (if they remove the animals, demolish the production capacity, return any permits and/or get a rezoning so that livestock can't come back).
A visit to the cafes, eateries and restaurants on The Mid North Coast reveals menus that consist of mainly animal foods. Hamburgers, crispy bacon, pork, beef, poultry and fish are what the consumer demands. The menus are almost identical, reflecting the desire of the customers. In between a thoughtless bowl of some vegetable matter can also be found.
Ideally there is (door2door) parking and one can just roll out of the one seat onto the cafe seat. Meat and petrol have formed the landscape all around. It's known as the 'view'.
"Sensationalized smearing of dozens of Tribal Nations who enjoy ancient sacred relationships with the natural world and our four-legged relatives, with gory depictions of Tribal harvest of Yellowstone Bison, conveniently avoids the real issue of an irredeemably broken management regime and the Montana livestock industry’s decades-long stranglehold on bison management."

This is Flora last year when I managed to persuade her to nest in a coop .Shes a Scots Dumpy ,which for a while was Scotlands national symbol and is the reason its symbol is a thistle ,Dumpys were carried by the Scots army to warn of anyone approaching, the Romans tried to sneak up under cover of darkness, the birds sounded the alarm ,the Romans ended up driven into a thistle patch and roundly beaten :) https://www.raising-chickens.org/Scots-Dumpy-Chicken.html
