The Alba Party was referred to as 'Bluekip' by some. With their only MSP voting yesterday with Tory and Labour in favour of bringing down the SNP/ Green government, it's difficult to see how Alba can rise above its current 1% in the polls.
My goodness, an article in The Times (contrary to the 30+ before this) that has attempted to be a little calmer about the new Scottish Legislation as some of the hysteria has subsided. Linked so you can read it. Meanwhile the commenters still like to hate.
Thank goodness for that. Having come across the desiccated and sometimes fresh corpses of animal when running and walking I say about time too. Landowners frequently do not even check them. Of course The Times takes a different line with an article condemning ‘Town Greenies’ for damaging their rights to kill & maim. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

An English (SE) paper once radical it is wildly supportive of national autonomy - provided you are not #Welsh or #Scottish. #NI conflicts them.
So they now shy away from opening comments about anything to do with Scotland, indeed normally ignore it.
The latest - #Crace,a satirist almost always has comments open. But after a poor hatchet job on #Sturgeon, comments not allowed. They are obviously learningafter the last time he talked of #Holyrood.
7 Jan 1543: The embalmed body of James V King of #Scots ferried across the Firth of Forth #otd from Kinghorn. He was buried in #Holyrood Abbey on 8 Jan 1543.

In a blazing letter, David Cameron turned the heavy armour of the Foreign Office on Humza Yusaf, Scotland’s FM. Yusaf stands accused of breaking Westminster’s rules meeting foreign dignitaries.
The Scottish government has developed financial strategies, provides support & grants millions in public money, all of which go directly towards arms manufacture in Scotland.
Like #labour , the #snp is happy to use "British jobs" as an excuse to fund #warcrimes . They have the devolved powers to disincentivise arms manufacture in #Scotland
I am so very tired of those who split and divide the #ScottishIndependence movement. Whatever their motive, and that is debatable, fragmenting into different “parties” will, when it comes time to vote, benefit the unionists from Westminster.
Under the WM & HR seat systems the only way to get an independence majority is to vote for the same independence minded candidate. In any seat with a strong (25%+) unionist candidate splitting the Indy vote down the middle will loose the seat.
@alistairgbarron couldn't agree more. The #Holyrood party has to be a party of government, which means they have to actually govern and have policies. Some government decisions will inevitably be unpopular, and some policies will be divisive.
For those people who have not contributed to the consultation, can I suggest you take a few minutes out to read and then provide some feedback. There are only a couple of days left and it does not take long. I know ‘consultations' are frequently denigrated but they can have an effect.
@AnthonyFStevens If the Scottish Government #ScotGov can't get a #Section33 to run a referendum, and the UK Supreme Court won't allow #Holyrood to call one, then civil society will just have to do it.
Under Chapter 1, Article 1, Paragraph 2 of the United Nations Charter, we clearly have the right, and that right clearly overrides Westminster law or UK Supreme Court decisions.
Rally for independence at #Holyrood. Tons of speakers & tens of thousands of folk turning out. @BelieveinScotland
Whether the Tories are wearing a red or a blue rosette - we can’t unleash our full potential & will forever be mitigating the cruel policies pushed by Westminster - until we regain #independence. #scottishindependence
The deep-seated strength of feeling about just how awful the two-child benefits cap and #RapeClause are, and just how many children and families in Scotland it affects, gave cause for a few #ScotPol folk to share and re-watch powerful speeches on it from #Holyrood.
While all the focus is on #Tory MPs quitting before the next #GeneralElection, there is a growing number of #SNP MPs who are also looking for the exit.
#MhariBlack is the most high profile to announce this, since former Commons leader #IanBlackford.
But why? Presumably, like the Tory MPs, they know there's a massive electoral drubbing on its way.
The interesting question is what Black will do next. #Holyrood, perchance?
The Orcadian posted 3 days ago about #Orkney Council’s Leader seeking “alternative models of governance”. On Radio, James Stockan cited being let down by #Westminster & #Holyrood.
The alternative models cited were of crown dependency such as Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey or of the Faroe Islands within Denmark & also talked of exploring their nordic connection.
Today multiple papers have printed rubbish like this, it’s dismissive n attempts to humiliate those trying to fix our broken politics.
I long for #independence but you’d think for a nation that feels neglected by its central govt would do better in preventing the same apathy but a govt in #Holyrood feels just as far away & out of touch as #westminster.
The challenges & responsibilities of the islands’ councils heavily outweigh those of their mainland counterparts. Things like devolving a tourist tax to councils are minuscule in what is needed to equip those Govts in delivering for & retaining their residents. #politics
