Wenn ich an den Föderationsgedanken denke, fühle ich mich an zwei Ansätze erinnert: #Gravatar als plattformübergreifender "Avatar", und im Blick auf Mastodon an die alten BBS/Mailbox Zeiten... Da gab es die lokale Box, und darüber hinaus konnte man ggf. ins #Usenet gehen... #Fidonet sage ich an dieser Stelle.
Does anyone know how to report abuse on #Gravatar? Someone, possibly a spammer, created a profile impersonating me. There is no "report abuse" option on the Gravatar site. And https://wordpress.com/abuse/ doesn't accept Gravatar links.
Too bad that #Gravatar is actually serving as a #tracker, and gets quite valuable information wherever it is used. See the Automattic #privacy policy on how/where that data can be used.

Mais depuis septembre au plus tard, l’UI a été complètement revue et on a un petit volet à gauche avec les avatars, et un volet droit d’aperçu qui sert à rien. Et on ne peut plus revenir à l’avatar par défaut (je DÉTESTE ça !) ! >__<
Oh, et pour se connecter à son compte, faut se farcir un lien envoyé par e-mail, tsss… 😤
The id is an md5 hash of my email address, and although someone could try to reverse it, you could just go to my website and get my email from there.
What I am less comfortable with is that Automattic has access to a list of my accounts. And for that, I don't even need to have a Gravatar. They already get that information when a website checks to see if I have one.
The creator of Friendica, Hubzilla, and Zot is creating a Fediverse Identity Manager. It is 70% complete.
I don’t know what this will be like exactly. But because @mike is the fellow who’s also brought nomadic identity to the Fediverse, I suspect this will be a big deal.
