yes-no circled, these are the sounds that unity has detected as virtual and they may not be played, as seen from the profiler, the sounds that are detected as NO are 7 km from the listener, and the sound that is 40 meters away has become virtual
#unity has decided that a sound played somewhere 7000 meters away has a better chance than one that is 40 meters away
#gameDev#devLog: Continued work on this week's game, a maze chase game in godot 4. I'd initially budgeted myself two days to work up content - tilemaps, sprites, sound - but family emergencies happened, cutting the time I had to work drastically. I should be able to finish something playable by my Saturday deadline, but without as much polish as I'd have liked.
So today I finished up my tilemap and most of the objects, tomorrow I'll focus on sound and music. #godotEngine
In Twilight Oracle, Leo, a sophomore, travels to another world to find the fabled Oracle. Think Stargate meets Indiana Jones, but packed with cosmic humor. Ready to blast off? Let's go! 💫🤩
Wow, it's been a while! In less than an hour at 5pm ET / 2pm PT, I'll be chatting with gamedevs Abhi of Venba, Marina Ayano Kittaka of Sephonie, Natalie Tin Yin Gan & @remysiu of 1000xResist!
We'll have a profound talk on how our respective games and characters explore cultural memory, hope, and trauma.
You can watch the panel here, as part of Fellow Traveller's #LudoNarraCon !
The incredible folks at Game Dev Lisbon have put together a magazine compiling #gamedev studios, events, universities and the various organisations/communities from the portuguese games industry! It's an amazing effort showing how diverse the industry in #portugal is becoming! 🇵🇹
Our Country became independent. People are going through hard times. The criminal world dictates its own rules. Everything is decided by power, respect, or money.
I had an "app" idea- Not anything too crazy, possibly a web app or something, but an app where you give it your background image, and your game logo, and it automatically generates all the necessary image sizes for Steam (and maybe other storefronts too, EGS etc.)?
Does this sound like something useful? Or does it already exist?
Doing it manually isn't terribly difficult, but it is tedious and annoying.
Kind of serious suggestion for unfucking society: whenever anyone has more than $10m in assets, the surplus is distributed evenly and they receive the value in HatPoints.
HatPoints allow you to unlock the right to wear increasingly fancy hats, the wearing of which is otherwise strictly forbidden. You can also unlock them for your children.
Does anyone here having any thoughts on / experience with using the 'RPG' Steam tag on your strategy games?
Two of my most closely related games, Crusader Kings and Old World, both use it in their top 5 tags, so I'm trying it out as well, but it feels like such a loaded term, and I suspect expectations amongst players can vary greatly as to what it means exactly.
Game Devlog 01 - Yesterday I restarted my #GameDevelopment project. I liked where things were headed before I took a break, but I think a reset will help me focus. Using #Notion, I’m writing out deliverables and tasks and I’m about 20% done preparing for development on the first minor version. It feels a little tedious and I may scale back in the future, but I want to see if the structure will help with this first minor version. #GodotEngine#IndieGameDev
Game Devlog 06 - Over the past couple days I was able to add bump combat and enemy spawn progression. Enemies can die and when they kill the player the game starts over! 28 tasks complete!
Except! I realized I was missing a few projects necessary to actually release an alpha build so I made 18 new tasks, mostly around building and deploying the game when it’s ready. #GameDev#IndieDev#GodotEngine#Godot
