I have had a really hard time missing my late brother recently, maybe because of my birthday being so soon, so I decided to do something more productive than crying myself into a migraine - and I doodled something he would have loved very much
Nothing much else to say but to openly admit this one scene was absolute pure joy. After so many years, to go back to where it all began, it was just perfect 💕
All the thousand things I love about Return to Monkey Island ❤️
You know when you have a video loop, but to make it loop something disappears in an improbable manner?
And you think, that's a shame, because I really like this little clip.
And you could crop it so, for example, a bird doesn't disappear in mid-flight, but then it looks unbalanced so you need to find some unobtrusive way for the bird to disappear so it appears natural?
Guybrush in a dress from Monkey Island 2, Max from Sam & Max, and Leslie holding Broom Alien from Zak McKracken - and if you have no idea who they are, this is your sign to play the game, go to Mars and meet them

It's amazing how quickly fungi appears. Yesterday there were a few scattered around this wooden planter in the garden, today it was fully surrounded. LOADS of them.
Fortunately they are very friendly, and hope you all have a lovely day.
And we get started with a brand new set of Doodle O'Clock with Paul Rudd. Who happens to be the one actor I think would fit the part to play Zak McKracken in a movie
Another odd thing. I saw this rotting flower & was immediately transported back to my aunt's bathroom & the crocheted doll that used to sit on top of the toilet roll.
Which is a little unkind about my old aunt's decor really, as her doll had a delightful pink dress as I recall with no rotting involved at all, but the shape is just perfect.
Right. That's this mornings odd observations (oddservations?!) out of the way over coffee, now to Sensible Things.
Week 29 of adding a dancer a week & this is becoming absolute CHAOS. On reflection the hats & bells have not helped calm it down, but not to worry.
So time to wish everyone a very happy weekend, & if you celebrate Christmas I hope your festivities are exactly what you want, & if you don't celebrate I hope your non-festivities are exactly what you want.
More artwork from my archives. More of a drawing this time, from 2018, in a small Stillman & Birn mixed-media sketchbook. Pencil, fountain pen, Copic markers. People waiting at a bus stop in downtown Montréal, dans le quartier latin, dressed for a mild, Canadian winter day. The woman in the centre of the composition was watching me, unconcerned but mildly curious, as I took their photo. #art#drawing#canadianLandscape#groupPortrait#Montreal#quartierLatin#QC
Ah, it's nearly 4.30 on a Friday afternoon, I am declaring the weekend open with week 21 of the Sparkly Rainbow Dancers.
This week's new dancer did a preview earlier in the week, but is joining the squad with a shorter version, because getting them all to loop in time is becoming something I have to think about.
