The latest MagicaCSG version includes nested sub-objects for compound Boolean operations.

Kitbashing has never been this effortless. Polygons and NURBS are sooo 1990s. 😉

Trying the new Boolean subgroups in MagicaCSG.

Made a little video to show the difference between Booleans using separate elements and combined elements…

Browsing through the new Extensions section (previously called "Add-ons") in the Blender 4.3 Alpha build preferences, I stumbled upon an extension that should be able to import native 3ds Max files. It even supports V-Ray and Corona materials. I haven't tested it yet, but I hope it works!

If you dislike Blender's cumbersome new Add Modifier menu with tedious submenus in Blender 4.x, I can recommend the Old Modifier Menu add-on.

There's a free version, but version 2 costs less than $1, and the add-on is very customizable via Blender's preferences. I love it.

I never knew of all of this early CGI work at NYIT before. It is incredible work for the late-1970s/early-1980s. (h/t @allknowingroger ) #ComputerHistory #CGI #GraphicsArts

The creators of the Womp online SDF 3D editor are about to introduce an AI-aided way of converting polygonal meshes to SDF primitives.

All you nutcases still using , what's actually wrong with it?

aka What are the sharp edges?

mjgardner,

@tripleo Like I said in https://social.sdf.org/@mjgardner/112476483573909633, the only feature built in to #Perl for untrusted data is taint mode.

You might have heard of it or used it 25 years ago with simple #CGI scripts (and that still works!) but as I said in https://social.sdf.org/@mjgardner/112481166820565063, it breaks a lot of modern code.

It’s also no silver bullet: a taint failure is a fatal exception and it’s up to the developer to handle that gracefully.

The other day where I live I noticed a building made of tabby concrete, a type of concrete with broken oyster shells inside. Its surface was breaking, revealing the oysters incorporated in the matrix of the concrete. I've recreated it in Substance Designer and rendered it with Eevee Next. Digging a little into #CGI programming via #Apache in the coming days. Many cool things one can do with a webserver on hand. (Leveraging #Python personally) 😎

This is a nice introduction:

Tried Leiapix's automatic depth algorithm on an old 3D-rendered image of mine.

Nice result out of the box, with only a few minor errors here and there.

Incredible research at BlackHat Asia today by Tong Liu and team from the Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (在iie.ac.cn 的电子邮件经过验证)

A dozen+ RCEs on popular LLM framework libraries like LangChain and LlamaIndex - used in lots of chat-assisted apps including GitHub. These guys got a reverse shell in two prompts, and even managed to exploit SetUID for full root on the underlying VM!

@kennwhite Looks like we’re at the “Matt’s Script Archive” #security level with #LLM frameworks.

The difference is that Matt Wright was a high school student in 1995 when he launched MSA and its infamously exploitable FormMail #Perl #CGI script.

Anyone know websites like 3DSky where you can share a database of high poly and well detailed 3d models for free??

CGTraders hasn't delivered very nice models without paying. All else I find are freebies of commercial offers. #3d #b3d #render3d #render #cgi

My first Houdini vellum fluid sim. In love with using vellum for fluids! More to come. This one shows velocity as a color attribute.

FINISHED! Yesterday I made my first vellum fluid sim. I'm using velocity as a color attribute, and lots of smoothing trickeries for the final mesh. Enjoy!
