On our trip to Austin in March, we went along the Colorado River and made our way to the Congress Avenue Bridge. The bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony in the world. While it was daytime, you can hear a light chitter of the resident safe in their homes underneath.
The Republican brain virus and associated election conspiracies are messing up our county’s ability to run a primary election.
The “both sides” headline is maddening. The dems are doing exactly what the county has done for dozens of cycles, unchanged, while Republicans go frothing off into tinfoil hatland and it’s still “both parties”.
I’m curious if there is a big community of people here on #Mastodon that are here in the #AustinTX area. I know there are servers for large geographic areas, but I wonder if people discuss events here in town, or if there are specific hashtags.

Rep. Doggett "asked the FAA to upgrade the Austin airport's classification to increase its staff levels [...] In late September, airport officials barely avoided a near-miss between a fighter jet and a private jet [...] in June when an Allegiant flight had to pull up at the last second to avoid a small craft [...] in February when a FedEx cargo plane was expected to land on the same runway as a Southwest flight was preparing to take off."
