"The nearly 1,000-page transition guide was written by more than 350 rightwingers and is full of sweeping recommendations to deconstruct all sectors of the federal government – including environmental policy."
They want "to dismantle the administrative state" and concentrate more power at the White House.
Department of Energy
– eliminate three agency offices that are crucial for the #EnergyTransition
– slash funding for #grid deployment an effort to stymie #RenewableEnergy deployment
– hugely expand fossil #gas infrastructure
EPA:
– move it away from its focus on the #climate crisis
– cut #EnvironmentaJustice and public engagement functions
– terminating new hires in “low-value programs”
Interior and BLM:
– eliminate #drilling regulations.
Already Republicans are slipping “poison pills” into the budget bill that would remove protections on endangered species.

"A bill awaiting signature from Governor Ron DeSantis, who dropped out of the Republican presidential race in January, would ban offshore wind energy, relax regulations on natural gas pipelines, and delete the majority of mentions of #ClimateChange from existing state laws."
In another parallel: #Florida politicians act against what voters want.
"The latest edition of the Florida Climate Resilience Survey found that 90 percent of respondents believe climate change is happening.
Floridians overwhelmingly support more government action to address the impacts of climate change, with 69 percent support for state action and 70 percent support for federal action."
