11 years ago I lost my brother to opiates. He was the typical (American) teenage opiate addict starting with Dr. prescribed pharmaceuticals quickly becoming terribly addicted leading him into the needles of the streets. Loosing my brother that way rocked me, it still rocks me as this battle still continues horribly in the US. In his honor I brought him to the top of Mt Baker. I share to spread hope knowing there is healing in nature. Be kind to yourself. #natureheals#grief#mountains#healing
Apparently the UK is the only country where we deliberately go walking in the mountains, get soaked right through, wild camp, then get into the wet clothes and boots the next day and do it all again. That’s what our #Mountainleader trainer told us anyway #mountains#wildcamping#MTA#running
This fine creature kept me company while I was eating dinner by a stream last week during my #backpacking trip in the White #Mountains, #NewHampshire. It just hung out on my boot while I enjoyed the sounds of the stream!
@kravemir@photography They look good as they are imo 👍 the only suggestion I have is to avoid using Velvia, as it does weird colour shifts around very bright areas. Classic Chrome is good for avoiding this, if you want a softer look, and generally, setting Highlights to –2 in the tone curve helps retain sky detail.
Phone night shot passing Consultation lake and Mt Irvine (it hid the full moon until Trail Camp). Before there was enough reflection to just use the red headlamp. Turned it off here and climbed the rest without a light including the snow chute which was in moon shadow. No wind, surreal quiet.
I think I found the secret hide-out of Dr. Evil where he is planning his world domination from. I can just image that the round door slides into the mountain and some rocket with super satellite gets launched. 🚀
Continuing the biennial "completely rebuild my #backpacking water filtration and storage system" (DIY quick release bite valve so I can plug in my gravity filter to the same inlet)
