It's not embarrassing to have been duped. It can happen to anyone. What IS EMBARRASSING is to keep letting the dupers fuck you over once you get it.🙄

tomcrinstam,

@StillIRise1963 Or letting others get fucked over by the same people when you could have warned them.

A white woman yelled “hashtag irony” when I came in to a coffeehouse masked, in case you thought hostility was dead.

tomcrinstam,

@lkngrrr @Binder I would have went with "hashtag shut the fuck up karen".

tomcrinstam,

@GottaLaff and Canada soon after peepee wins a federal election.

tomcrinstam,

@GottaLaff I hope so, but not enough to bet on it.

tomcrinstam,

@GottaLaff Its been disappointing for sure.

For too many, hate is easier than compassion.

tomcrinstam,

@GottaLaff Reality is more depressing than my actual depression is lol

One of the biggest problems we face today is the fact that because almost anyone can have a voice (a good thing), many think it means they can speak on any subject, even those they don't understand.

Does anyone know of a way I can use a Fitbit versa 2 to record voice memos besides sending a message reply?

I apologize for passive aggressively gaslighting you all into believing that I am Snoop Dogg. They're right, it's time for me to come clean.

The truth is that I am actually Sandra Bullock. I am deeply sorry for deceiving everyone earlier today. I just wanted you all to like me.

tomcrinstam,

@lowqualityfacts I can't believe you're still gaslighting people.

Switch to LEDs already. Sheesh

Wired publishing this article is a great reason to not read them.

No, the imaginary being at the center of delusional people's cults did not destroy twitter, it was 100% musk who did it.

I think people fundamentally misunderstand search engines. I suspect most people approach typing a question into a search engine as them asking…

“What is the objectively correct, carefully vetted-by-Google answer to my question?”

What they should be thinking is…

“What complete bullshit will Google show me that people made popular (because people believe what makes them feel good)?”

People think search results = TRUTH. At some level, anyway.

Scepticism is healthy.

tomcrinstam,

@tantramar Did you mean to demonstrate this idea? If you do a google search for 'scepticism' it will tell you the meaning of it is the same as 'skepticism'... doesn't make it right lol

tomcrinstam,

@tantramar lol dammit I should have checked that

Lawful Good Question!

You can make one law right that goes into affect today, what would it be?

tomcrinstam,

@RickiTarr Scrap corporate liability and put it where it belongs, on the actual people who make the decisions and the shareholders who support them.

NEW - Health Minister Sylvia Jones says there is a fall preparedness plan for #Covid-19 which she says will be unveiled later this week.

This is the third major rollout in Ontario.

#VaccineHungerGarmes

tomcrinstam,

@CAWguy @gemelliz I think there is an underlying evil that people are missing from what's been going on.

As provinces fall further and further behind, sentiment rises for the federal government to do more of what was traditionally just under provincial jurisdiction.

By the time the next federal election rolls around that the cons win, they will have the backing in place to federalize much of the power in the country.

If you don't think what happened in Libya or Morocco can happen to you, think again.

tomcrinstam,

@StillIRise1963 it will not only happen again, it will happen more and more often and keep getting worse.

What's more worrying is that way too many people don't grasp this.

This seems to be a global sentiment. Any other profession would have been scrapped or completely reorganised if a majority of its workers couldn’t do their job

tomcrinstam,

@Miriamm I think it would be more fair to say they don't do the job that most people think they are supposed to.

They do the exact job they are hired to do, to protect the status quo, regardless of what it is.

People get confused about it because of things like 'Protect and Serve' thinking it means everyone when in reality it's only directed towards those at the top.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis wrote letters of support and positive reference for the rapist Danny Masterson...

tomcrinstam,

Like 35 years ago I watched my grandmothers brother go to court for 47 counts of child molestation over a period of almost 3 decades.

During his trial, his priest and multiple members of his church provided support and positive references for him. They said he had been an upstanding member of the community for decades.

The same decades he had been raping and abusing children.

None of those people did a single thing to help or support his victims, whom were also members of that church (until the church supported their abuser).

Someone who has been raping and abusing people, children or not, often pretend to be a good person while they are doing it. That in no way means they have positive qualities that should be recognized.

That means they knew what they were doing was wrong and pretended to be good as a cover for their evilness.

Those that support them, are just as evil as they are.

tomcrinstam,

He got 2 months in jail and 2 years probation.

At the time, I was serving a 2 month sentence, with 2 years probation to follow because I had stolen $16.00 in change to buy food.

Compare those two things...

I stole sixteen dollars in quarters, dimes and nickles, while he committed at least 47 counts of sexual abuse on children.

His church and friends stood up for him and said he was a 'pillar of the community', nobody stood up for me and said 'he was hungry'.

tomcrinstam,

Oh and to be clear about this, he claimed he was innocent, despite overwhelming proof, including an admission of guilt during his police interviews, while I pled guilty and fully admitted what I had done and why.

Do you know why these things happen?

Because people have more sympathy and compassion for rapists and abusers than people trying not to starve.

Since there are no ads on Mastodon, I am offering to advertise for any companies on here. My only requirements are:

  1. I get to write the ad.

  2. The ad will in no way accurately portray your company and might state that you were responsible for the Cuban Missile Crisis.

  3. For each post you must pay me $10,000 and write me a handwritten note that says I am your best friend.

  4. You must put out an official statement stating that you take full responsibility for the Cuban Missile Crisis.

tomcrinstam,

@lowqualityfacts on #3 I offer instead, a half eaten bag of airline peanuts. Note: you'll have to procure the peanuts yourself.
