I never was able to beat one of the first gen #Pokemon games as a kid. Couldn't defeat against the Elite Four but had a ton of fun with the game until this point. :fatpikachu:

Meanwhile I caught up for that and in addition I collected all 151 Pokemon using original hardware. Will do some posts about this project in the upcoming days because I still have some capture footage. 📹

Genesis active resolution is either 320x224 or 256x224 depending on the game.
More important: Which pixel aspect ratio had the developers in mind? The generic 1:1, the Genesis specific 32:35 (320px games) or rather 8:7 (256px games)? In addition it's also possible that they considered the 4:3 display picture aspect ratio of CRTs. 🤯

Street Fighter 2 for Genesis has perfect circles when scaled 1:1, but I scaled to 8:7 because I wanted it a little bit wider.

First attempts with the #OSSC work out fine so far. The generic profiles are ok but to get a quality, that is comparable to my RGB datapath capture card, fine tuning is necessary. 📏
Luckily retro scaling legend FirebrandX provides his heavily optimized profiles for the OSSC. The result can be seen in the video. 🤤

First assessment: Now I can and will stream original retro hardware on #Linux.

While chasing Robotnik in Act 3 of Labyrinth Zone today I experienced a creepy glitch by a broken enemy's sprite. :pika:

Doing some research I found out that this happens because when Robotnik's boss battle starts his sprite tiles are loaded in RAM. They overwrite the general enemy's tiles since these are not supposed to be around during the battle. Caused by a bug somehow one of them shows up and therefore has to use robotnik's sprites instead of his own.

Once again supported by @TheRetroSven I finally achieved the good ending in Sonic 1 for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive by getting all emeralds. 💪 Took me three streams but was a fun and not too hard challenge. 🦔 💨

Probably I will now do the same with Sonic 2 for Sega Master System as the next 💯%-challenge, but not quite sure yet. 💎

First little milestone for getting the good ending in Sonic 1 for Genesis/Mega Drive is achieved. 💪
I just could finish the game on 60 Hz with 3 of the 6 required chaos emeralds. 💎
Will focus on getting most of the emeralds in the early levels during the next attempts. Otherwise I will restart. I think this will help getting the good ending in the nearer future. 🦔 💨

Just finished my 💯% playthrough of #Rayman Origins on #PS3. Damn, this game is great. Artstyle, gameplay, music and humor is awesome. Would call it a hidden gem because from my perspective it competes with the #Mario #platformer games.

Give it a try, at least casual. You can also play it on #Steam, Wii, Xbox 360, PS Vita and #Nintendo 3DS .

In the video you can see the fight against the additional boss unlocked when collected all 10 skull teeth. Boss art in this game is magnificent.

This is wall rack No. 2.

The green N64 controller CIB probably is the most valuable item I have. It's unused and therefore "new" because I got from a former store owner who liquidated her business. 👔

There is also my all time favorite Silent Hill. The PS1 disk isn't the only collectible I have related to the game. I have another nice asset that will be presented in the next post about my collection. 📖
