It cracks me up when people say that people with ADD and ADHD don't actually need their meds, they are just addicted to Adderall. Have they even met a person with ADD or ADHD?
My friends forget to take their meds all the time!

This completely derailed all of my productivity as I tried to fix it. Couldn't even verify my identity for a while due to server errors. Took over an hour, plus a call to a totally useless Support agent who blew me off and kept insisting that I had just forgotten my password, before I finally got back in on my own.

Microsoft even sued them, and nowadays it's sold as "Linspire"

Considering trying to get into #acting. We live near a playhouse so gonna see if I can just volunteer there on the weekends doing set work or something to test the waters and get some #advice from the #actors.

The thing is that I discovered that I enjoy acting while performing in a "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" parody play waaay back in 8th grade but my low self-esteem issues led me away from pursuing it after being mocked by some assho… uh, other kids. I've always regretted letting them get in my head.

Now, playing #DnD has rekindled my interest, plus I've gotten much better at not giving a shit about others' opinions. 😂

Might be worth a shot. Any #tips from any #ActorsOfMastodon for an aspiring #actor?

Well, here I am at age 37 finally, officially, medically diagnosed with #ADHD, something I've been certain of for quite some time now, and my best friend has been telling me for much longer. Doctor's appointment tomorrow to discuss treatment.

Any tips or suggestions for this appointment? Questions you wish you'd asked, things I should expect, etc?

I had a pretty busy day yesterday Sunday, and yet at bed time around 11:30 PM I still was restless and played Cyberpunk 2077 for about 3 hours before finally hitting the sack.

These 3 hours are an #ADHD tax, and I’m going to pay for it in reduced energy until Wednesday, if and only if I don’t get restless again at bedtime for a couple nights, which may not happen, independently of my will.

I couldn’t have slept on time even if I had tried, I know it because it has happened to me before and I just ended up lying in bed, wide awake, with my brain still obsessing over something. In this case the best I can do is give in to my brain’s terrorism and do the thing I’m obsessing over before finally be ready for sleep a few hours later.

And it has nothing to do with my mood, I can be content like yesterday and still need this time for my brain to quiet down.

How does it work for you?

#Linux friends! Hi! I'm considering switching my daily-driver laptop back to #LinuxMint. Are there any better, stable, and reliable #cloud storage providers that support #iOS, Linux, #macOS, AND #Windows than #Dropbox nowadays? I switch between devices and OSes frequently.

Also, any issues with Dropbox that I should be aware of? I didn't have any issues before but it's been several years since I last used it.

New #Introduction for a new year!

Hi, I'm Rafe! That's pronounced "Rayf" and I am just some dude from #OgdenUtah.

I would describe myself as an awkward #introvert with a tendency to come across as the opposite until a conversation starts and I forget how human interactions are supposed to work. There's also the #ADHD factor where my brain loves to just go AWOL in the middle of things.

I toot mostly about #DnD, random #life updates, personal #projects, #DadLife, weird niche #powerMetal & #symphonicMetal, and #outdoors stuff. I really enjoy #camping, #geocaching, and #hiking with intent to do much more of that this year.

Also in 2024, I'm planning to do more #miniaturePainting, #reading, #retroComputing shenanigans, and maybe even start that #TTRPG actual-play #podcast that got shelved in 2023.

⚠️ There are very infrequent posts about politics & religion from my #progressive #atheist #American viewpoint. I try to avoid it but sometimes things must be said. On the rare occasions that I do post about those or any other serious, controversial topics, I do my best to keep it civil and always put it behind a content warning.

My wife let me know that the cats' food was getting low so I got up to feed them and felt a surge of motivation hit. I washed dishes, cleaned the bathroom, scooped the litter box, washed up, made lunch, updated the grocery list, topped up the water softener salt, started a load of laundry, tidied the living room, then sat down and started strumming my ukulele to relax – only to see an unopened can of cat food still sitting on the desk…
