@ryanhoulihan sitting by a river, square, or something like that. maybe hang with friends later (if available). do something creative but simple. can‘t recommend stressful travel.

I am “too many requests” level of Mastodon clients on my phone. By all means, I do not wish to complain, but “this is not working” does describe the situation.

@hukl Ich bin happy damit - hätte aber gerne ein/zwei andere Clients passiv im Background. Den Default-Client habe ich zum nachgucken drauf. Aber zur Not reichen mir auch 1,5 Clients. Würde halt gerne den Traffic reduzieren.

@hukl Die Option um den Background-Traffic von allen Cöients außer Ivory zu deaktivieren, damit ich nicht ins Rate-Limiting gerate. Kann sein dass man das mit Notification-Settings erreichen kann. Weißt du das?

@hukl Ich brauchte mal nen zweiten Client zum debuggen, und jetzt will ich manchmal wissen wie die Experience in ein zwei anderen Clients aussieht.

Ja - das mit den Notifications im System ausschalten muss ich mal probieren. Was mich vielleicht eigentlich stört, ist dass ich diese Instanz nicht debugged kann. Oder ich schmeiße die anderen Clients einfach runter… geht schon.

when a social media user complains about some incredibly minute things like it's the end of the world i have an impulse (which i've never followed) to ask "have you considered that you may be disabled while not having enough information to accurately judge whether you are in fact disabled? that would make your daily life difficult and miserable to the point where" (checks notes) "standing thirty seconds next to a microwave breaks your spirit for the day"

Auf die Fresse gelegt bei so einem Balancierbalken. Gehe da bei jedem Spaziergang drüber. Heute dachte ich, ha, heute klappt es ja besonders gut, und prompt knall ich mich auf die Fresse. Hoffe ich hab keine bleibenden Schäden behalten :/ aua :(

Handling a (even massive, million installs) application on the Google Play store is nothing short of a nightmare in recent years. Google Play policy and app review has become such a shitshow.
I regularly deal with apps in Apple, Amazon, Google, Huawaii, Samsung and more app stores (not the most fun part of my job) but Google is really shitty.
Even massive apps have no direct contact at Google to deal with issues. Random rejections. Lot's of busywork policy changes because no one things ahead…

@mrtoto Google never put their money in it. Even the Android dev teams used to be smaller than those at various vendors. It's an ads company after all, that's my takeaway...

The rubberizedsurface on my is dissolving. It seems like it's not real rubber, as silicone oil makes it worse. Any ideas how to fix?

@byteborg for ThinkPads and Boblbee backpacks, all I could find is the option of stripping and re-coating - but this doesn't seem to be just a coating...

you might consider 3D printing? rubberized filament is available! a multi-filament printer might even do better than the original, if you can get the design right...

Die Frage ist nicht, wie wir die AfD-Wählenden davon abbringen, AfD zu wählen. Wer bis heute den Knall nicht gehört hat, wird ihn auch nicht mehr hören.

Die Frage ist leider, wie viele Nichtwählende wir überzeugen können, dass ein Abrutschen in Hass und Dummheit so eine schlechte Idee ist, dass man vielleicht doch nicht mit „Hände inne Tasche“ zusehen mag.

@ecoli @roy Ich versuche grad gelegentlich zu verstehen, wie wir Hacker und Progressiven auf TikTok ein besseres Engagement aufbauen können. Einige tun sich aber auch schwer damit. Ich weiß noch nicht ob das fruchtet, aber einen Versuch ist es IMO wert.

@astro @mcfly @mutax Aber halt auch eine schwierige Balance. Ich denke, als Arbeitstheorie: viele von uns Progressiven wissen nicht wie man da mitspielt, oder wollen es nicht, und so sind wir in diesem Sektor auch weniger präsent.
