I am “too many requests” level of Mastodon clients on my phone. By all means, I do not wish to complain, but “this is not working” does describe the situation.

@hukl Ich bin happy damit - hätte aber gerne ein/zwei andere Clients passiv im Background. Den Default-Client habe ich zum nachgucken drauf. Aber zur Not reichen mir auch 1,5 Clients. Würde halt gerne den Traffic reduzieren.
@hukl Die Option um den Background-Traffic von allen Cöients außer Ivory zu deaktivieren, damit ich nicht ins Rate-Limiting gerate. Kann sein dass man das mit Notification-Settings erreichen kann. Weißt du das?

Ja - das mit den Notifications im System ausschalten muss ich mal probieren. Was mich vielleicht eigentlich stört, ist dass ich diese Instanz nicht debugged kann. Oder ich schmeiße die anderen Clients einfach runter… geht schon.

@whitequark okay - it could do with having many vibration motors, and attitude sensing so that it knows compass directions. and then you/someone can configure it, whether it points at north or your partner, or all of them.
not sure on the security thing - my friends are a spectrum on this one, but more on the „secure“ side.

@whitequark Only a few companies ever did it that well. But it would be nice to not have work disrupted. I recommend to companies that they should buy spare laptops.
