While nearly every user gets rid of their old iPhone when they get a new one, iPad owners are more likely to repurposes older devices for uses beyond their original intended function.

Great article on error handling in Golang! @preslavrachev gives a nice clean solution to the fact that errs in Go don't come with a stack trace and are sometimes difficult to track down.

I really like the "doch" word in German language.
Every language should have such a concise and cute way of contradicting the previous statement.

"I think I am free. Doch! I have work to do."

It becomes even more interesting when it is used twice for extra stress: "doch doch"!

THIS IS INCREDIBLE 😃

"an mRNA cancer vaccine developed at the University of Florida successfully reprogrammed patients’ immune systems to fiercely attack glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal brain tumor" through "...use of a patient’s own tumor cells to create a personalized vaccine...."

FUCK CANCER. And let's see anti-vaxxers reject this one.

Someone asked me how I maintain a 97% margin.

It’s simple: I’m not afraid of servers. 😂
5 servers: 2 for http requests, 2 for cpu heavy background jobs, 1 database. Plus a load balancer.

Honestly, what scares me is serverless, especially the billing part. 😬

Relented and signed up for Amazon Prime for a 1-month trial. Opened Prime Video app on Apple TV, chose something “included with Prime” to watch (because Prime Video seems mostly to exist to upsell you on channels/partners for more money), then got hit with unskippable ads — 3 of them.

Deleted the app. Cancelled the trial. Despite 357 warnings, I’m delighted to be losing out on my “Prime benefits”. 🙄

It’s amazing how little I want to pay to watch ads.

I should be proud of all I've achieved: https://coolify.io is ramen profitable. 🍜
It makes ~$3,500/month, with a 97% margin.

This is far more than I ever imagined. #buildinpublic #opensource

When I finally pull the trigger, a new 13" iPad Pro w/ 16GB RAM, keyboard & stylus is gonna cost me €3,107. It would be by far the most powerful computer I own.

That's more than twice as much as what I paid for the Mac mini I do all my development on. It even beats out my high-end gaming PC whose GPU alone was €1800.

All of that goes to waste because it’s paired with a simplified, stripped-down OS using the same technology stack and limitations as a $300 Netflix device for your grandparents

This feels like the first ad that is a tone deaf miss from Apple. An ad showing beautiful tools of human creativity being crushed to be replaced by the newest and thinnest gadget feels antithetical to Apple.

I’d expect this from an AI company not Apple.
