@CindyWeinstein Thanks for the follow. Looking forward to checking your book out. Mom's last hardship was a non-alz version of dementia. Took her words and locomotion, it was tough. She was too.
Also, Happy dog picture. :D

AI-generated text is spam that can pass the Turing test.

ponderings,

@AlSweigart The stuturing test--there's always room for extra syllables and fingers!

Looking for good articles/resources on facilitating a discussion on balancing a shared feeling of progress with a sense of urgency.
#softwaredev #lean #agile #scrum

ponderings,

@mlevison Observation on urgency: One team member felt pushed, another feels driven, another feels helpless.
Does a/what system for a shared awareness (sense?) of the project (& story) progress help this?

It's really necessary for people to understand that it's literally never about DEI, CRT, children, immigration, the Civil War, abortion, decorum, taxes, state rights or even "the economy".

It never is, so it's completely useless and often actually detrimental to try to "discuss" these topics.

It's always about emotions and worldviews about power, white superiority, racism, misogynism and ultimately controlling other people.

ponderings,

@thomasfuchs wait, so it's not about children?

Yesterday I found the Python Morsel's article on any() and all() very useful: https://www.pythonmorsels.com/any-and-all
Today I noticed it again in the newsletter talking about De Morgan's law

I knew the #Python discord was top-notch, but I wasn't aware they had a web site guide: https://www.pythondiscord.com/resources/

Really enjoyed the @brianokken's Testing and Code podcast's "Testing argparse Applications" https://testandcode.com/episodes/209-testing-argparse-applications
Glad to also learn about shlex https://docs.python.org/3/library/shlex.html and CLIRunner https://click.palletsprojects.com/en/8.1.x/testing/

Clown 'stalking village streets and leaving residents terrified' dares police to catch them

The person, wearing a Pennywise-style outfit, uploaded a video to Facebook in response to news reports they have left Skelmorlie locals "terrified".

ponderings,

@cstross Silly villagers, trying to hide their streets on the internet.

This is cool stuff, and wondering where it fits in Anaconda's ecosystem. https://www.anaconda.com/blog/anaconda-empowers-education-with-new-edublocks-release-featuring-classrooms-mobile-support-and-more
Wondering if it's been covered on TeachingPython podcast, cc: @smtibor

Looking for examples (not principles, not general discussion, but concrete examples) of metrics/evaluation criteria used for software engineering teams working on internal-facing projects. Thanks in advance for pointers.

    ponderings,

@gvwilson metrics around team deliverables or team maturity?
I'm interested if Lead and Cycle Time, and Escaped Defects, are within the domain of your question for deliverables.

    ponderings,

    @gvwilson Makes sense.
Does your environment allow feedback buttons on your app, such "Wow!" and "Umm..." that will conveniently grab state/screenshots and end user feedback?
