What if the great and the powerful really were better people? Morally perceptive. Immune to petty, vengeful and base impulses?

Cut from a cloth of a superior moral fiber?

All the things they promise us they must be to be trusted with so much power?

What if, rather than corrupting, or simply amplifying normal human failings power really did give humans the grace to be better? Wouldn't that be a different world than the one that we see?

I'm going to restrain myself from commenting on the ongoing attacks in the Middle East. The only comment I will make is that this world would be a better place if we focused on science and less on religion.

The important point of is not that every Atheist is awesome, but there's a basic understanding of reality. At minimum, we all recognize that there's no deity/supernatural being guiding or controlling our actions.

Gen X is not doing our part to fix what our parents broke. Why are any of us Republicans at this point? Honestly?

If you're not voting or you're voting for taking away women and LGBTQ rights, what the hell are you doing?

Weren't we the ones who watched Reagan demonize our friends and family, sentencing them to death for living out loud? Talk about creating Us vs. Them.

And we sat there watching while billions of dollars were made objectifying us, making youth the only acceptable age, feeding us lies about our bodies and squashing our individuality.

Some of us bought into a socio-economic control system that makes us think we know what love is, that some supernatural entity who controls everything is checking in on us and judging us.

And then there's the economic system that pits neighbor vs. neighbor, gives 200 men all the wealth and glory for what we built together. Makes it acceptable for families to go bankrupt trying to save their loved ones' lives.

Speaking of healthcare, we won't vote for leaders to implement a system that fixes healthcare inequity because we're scared of words. Words that were demonized by the same people who ostracized our loved ones for wanting to express themselves openly.

And people say we become more conservative as we age. I say how the fuck can you live in this world and want to conserve anything but our water sources.

Conservatives don't give a damn about conserving anything but themselves. They refuse to see that they aren't here to save themselves. Dust to dust, dumbasses. We're here to maintain a habitable planet and build for our grandchildren.

We will become ancestors and Gen X better start fucking acting like it.

    I'm not sure how to say it better than this but
    It sucks when most people die, sure. But.

    It Really Sucks when people both younger && smarter than me turn out to be less durable than my grungy dumb ass.

    @Binder as a mom of a teenager with chronic illness, seeing young folks struggle with health, including mental health, is heartbreaking. We can only do so much to support, strengthen and nurse those younger than us to keep them with us. You realize that mourning and living have to coexist versus being a short term process that you get through. It's a daily choice which sometimes is hard to make.

    Watching Twitter's death spiral is just sad. I mean yeah, it had tons of issues, but the fact that so many communities and movements are going to be broken/fractured because of this is depressing.
