I used to see the DWP as a beneficial system, but they are hounding thousands of vulnerable and disabled people for repayments of benefits, often when the person involved did not know they needed to inform the DWP of a change.
I know this from experience when I was hounded for a large repayment because they insisted I had not informed them of a "change of circumstances" when in fact I HAD done so.
If you phone the DWP they often take no action, and there's no record of your call. Nowadays I send a recorded delivery letter, with a receipt from the Post Office, to prove what I've done.
When I was being chased for money I didn't owe, the DWP didn't back off until I got my local MP involved, and she contacted them on my behalf.
Terrifying when you need to do that to get common justice.
Ah, geeze, I'm in so much pain again. This is how bad it is. I'm really happy about the fact that I did not wake up screaming from the pain. OK, this is how SICK I is. I think this is hilariously funny. 😂 😂
Two days in a row I did not wake up screaming. This means I MUST be feeling better! Yay! 😂
@thepoliticalcat I'm so sorry to hear about that! I cannot imagine what you are going through and it makes my paltry problems seem like nothing compared to what you are enduring. Can you get access to some effective pain relief?
@thepoliticalcat I just realised that I was once prescribed Flixonase which is the very thing you described! I have one in my drawer and have used it today. Hoping the relentless dripping will be eased.
As you know, we said goodbye to our two cats last year (the anniversary of that event next week) but now I've become fixated on a black and white neighbourhood cat who visits our garden almost every day/night.
I haven't seen him lately and now I'm worried - silly, I know.
Yesterday however there was a different cat, one I hadn't seen before.
What's happened? It bugs me.
We put birdseed out, and a couple of these suet blocks in holders. The larger birds love them.
But I noticed how clever jackdaws are - I saw one actually trying to undo the catch to get the suet block out!
"People suffering from depression or anxiety could lose their access to sickness benefits as part of the government's major welfare reforms, the work and pensions secretary has said."
Surprising how quickly #Caturday arrives. Has it really been a week? Anyway, here is this little one saying, if nobody else hugs me, I'll do it myself.
"A reminder for all UK cat owners! 🐱
From 10 June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be #microchipped and registered on a compliant database 📆
By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet in the event that they go missing."
This is why hubby ends up with impulse purchases (cough cough, car!!) that turn out to be scams or a ridiculous waste of money.
Also why hubby badgers me unendingly for a lame reason to go out, or makes up a reason, because he can't stand being at home all day.
This always ends in a bag full of items that we don't need. But being able to shop was SO delicious!
That's it, I've had to resort to Solpadeine. I've had this horrible tired headache all day and I'm fed up with it now, so it's a drop of the hard stuff for me.
(A while ago, they did threaten to stop putting codeine in it, but that's the part that works for me, so I hope they don't give in to pressure.)
