blood pressure was super-high at the MDs today. been happening on & off since i got COVID19 and it's gotten worse with #chemo.

but i've always had ridiculously low BP. so why?

since am immunocompromised, my allergies are worse. chemo left me with no lashes, so my eyes are itchy. have to take an antihistamine every night to sleep properly.

well, they dehydrate you. today i've been thirsty all day. hence, my high BP 😡

Jeff Brumley highlights a new book by Brian Kaylor and Beau Underwood called Baptizing America, which shows that the problem of fusing Christianity and Americanism into white Christian nationalism goes way beyond white evangelical churches. It has been part and parcel of white Christianity in the US across the board for a long time now, and pointing to white evangelicals as the sole problem lets other white US Christians off the hook.

Visited an #AppleStore today. It’s the first time in a few years I’ve been to one.

From the store layout, I came away with the impression that in the coming years, the desktop #Mac 🖥️ will be subsumed by #AppleVisionPro 🥽. Perhaps, even the #MacBook 💻 will be a thing of the past.

Old news. We’ve known about the viral persistence of for several years now. And researchers just keep doing similar studies and writing articles while populations are decimated with reinfections leading to , other sequelae, and death.

Here's the thing I can't get my head around, I almost never reply to folk on social media unless they're a mutual or they replied to me first.. Maybe also if they explicitly asked for information and I have it..?

I kind of get replying to dunk on someone powerful, but replying to ordinary punters you don't know to disagree, be critical, or patronising is.. Where the fuck are folk learning this is appropriate

But where I try (and, admittedly, fail at times) to draw the line is in the argument itself and not to belittle the person.

For example, you as a technological student understand where improvements can be made and argue for those improvements. Nothing wrong with that.

Right now, the battle isn't between progress and the status quo. It's between the status quo and people who want to drag democracy and human rights back decades.

Considering the RW supreme court, the roll back of reproductive rights, etc, the battle is to preserve the rights that have already been won because if we don't, they'll be taken away again.

@Daojoan That thinking is limited in scope. The Overton Window has swung so far right that any preservation only serves as heels-down resistance from being dragged along. For instance, liberals often align themselves with conservatives nowadays.

Instead, pulling for expansion of rights without compromise by utilizing the power of labor unions, direct action, local elections, and a threat of an actual American Communist party is where we should be.

STUDY finds “patients with #COVID19 may have an increased risk of developing respiratory diseases. Even during the 24-month follow-up, the risk of asthma and bronchiectasis continued to increase.” Risks in COVID patients rise:
49% asthma
30% bronchiectasis
59% COPD
81% ILD
59% PVD
39% lung cancer (which may be incidental to the study)

Reinfection much worse! Compared to 1 infection, reinfected patients' risk were 3x+ higher for asthma, COPD, ILD, and lung cancer.
