What's the best RSS/newsfeed/social reader for Linux?

I have moved completely to @feeeed on iOS and I'm looking for something like that on Linux. Been using Miniflux for a long time but I do not have time to read them all and would like to have some algorithm to just show me the "key points" what to read. Anything like that for Linux out there?

#Linux #Apps #RSS

ktneely,

@rolle @feeeed I don't know if it's the best, but I use #RSSGuard because it is mulitplatform and it natively supports pulling feeds from a #Nextcloud instance running the news module that I use as my aggregator.

Not to be the “what are they teaching kids at school these days” guy. But I have two digital forensics/cyber security post grads on my team, and I had to give them the birds and the bees talk (networking and DNS).

I’m happy to of course, you don’t learn by not asking, but it was a revelation to them.

Both are more ‘qualified’ than me, but had no clue further than what an IP address does.

ktneely,

@SecurityWriter @a y'all are so forgiving. If you can't describe for me in an interview how traceroute works, you're not getting the job. Only for certain jobs, but definitely .

Samsung has launched its new line of S24 smartphones, and the company has committed to providing seven years of software and security updates.

Previously, the company's smartphones were only supported for five years.

Samsung joins Google to be the only vendor to provide seven years of security updates for its Android smartphones.

https://news.samsung.com/global/enter-the-new-era-of-mobile-ai-with-samsung-galaxy-s24-series

ktneely,

@campuscodi impressive. Now, if I could just find a phone that has 7 years of support and fits in my hand, we'd really have something!

Received a new nib for my Conklin #fountainpen, and the package from Goulet Pens came with a couple fun goodies. Here's hoping this fixes the problems I'm having with the current nib.

    ktneely,

@paradoxmo I have to admit, I thought it would be a lot easier to remove the existing nib & feeder assembly, but I can't seem to unscrew it!

    ktneely,

@paradoxmo did the warm water run with no luck and am now soaking it in pretty hot water.

I had the same idea about a rubber band! I used needle nose pliers on the rubberband to hold the housing, but still to no avail.

Send a postcard to Clarence Thomas asking that he recuse himself from decisions that involve Jan. 6 since his wife is among the organizers.

The post card can just say

"Clarence Thomas, you must recuse yourself from Jan. 6 cases. "

    That's it.

It is fitting that there are a pile of
letters from the public demanding this.

(This kind of mail is scanned and saved, if not kept on file indefinitely.)

    ktneely,

@futurebird A nice postcard from Shiner, #Texas for the esteemed Justice. I think the John Lewis stamp adds a little something.

In response to Microsoft's announcement of a "copilot" key to launch their AI engine*, I am working on a line of keyboards that includes a DF key, which when pressed, will insert a context appropriate image of a dumpster fire into whatever you are working on. If you are working on code, it will do nothing, since it's probably already a dumpster fire.

*if it really were truly AI, wouldn't it already know that you needed its help?

    ktneely,

@jerry at first, I chuckled at this. But then as I thought more about it, this would make for a great "report a security risk or incident" and should be on every company keyboard for one-click reporting.

Hopefully this would eliminate the email chain that winds itself through four departments and managerial levels before landing at the SOC.

We went to see “The Marvels” today. Trailer has made it look like a warmed-over Avengers-wannabe junk flick.
Nope. It was the most fun I’ve had in a Marvel movie in ages! Kamala’s mom steamrolling the now-flappable Nick Fury. Fury’s cat problem. A completely ridiculous and utterly fabulous song and dance number. Iman Vellani is a pure delight.
It still has Marvel’s signature “AYFKM” plot holes & eye-rolling villain, so that’s on-brand… But the overall: movie was a delight 💫🦸🏾‍♀️🦸🏽‍♀️🦸🏼‍♀️

    ktneely,

@bratling we went to see #TheMarvels over Thanksgiving weekend and I was laughing out loud for most of the film. Thoroughly enjoyable and it definitely got an undeserved bad rap.

I should really not be allowed to buy clothing anymore. I own zero nice dress shoes aside from docs, but have managed to waste money on a designer rhinestone jacket and pirate skort over one month. Neither of which I can justifiably wear for work, or anything practical.

    ktneely,

@hacks4pancakes I mean, just saying "pirate skort" is kind of worth the price of entry, isn't it?
