Is there a better way to create new cards on #Github project boards? The way I know how to do it involves five clicks and three different steps saving things. Surely there's a better path?

I'm sorry Slack, you're doing fucking WHAT with user DMs, messages, files, etc? I'm positive I'm not reading this correctly.

@danhon @Viss This has been exactly Paypal's business model for a long time. For 99% of users 99% of the time, it's a super-convenient, easy international payment system. The other 1% of the time they screw up and ruin your entire life, but people seem to be OK with that risk.

Just watched the first episode in the 2nd season of Jodie Whittaker's . That episode was a godawful mess. Does the season get better, or should I cut my losses and skip ahead to Ncuti Gatwa?

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

@janl Jodie is fine. What I having trouble with is Chris Chibnall.

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

@janl yeah, I'm ignoring the "all new Dr. Who is bad" replies.

If I'm going ahead, what episode should I skip to? Def. not watching #2 based on how terrible #1 was.

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

@janl I think you're mixing up Jodie season 2 with Jodie season 1.

fuzzychef,

@janl The spiders are from the first season of Whittaker.

My director told me about a conference that she really liked and wanted to sent some of our principal engineers to. It was the O'Reilly Architecture Conference... But unfortunately, it's not a thing anymore. What's your favorite alternative conference that's close to that one?

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

@hazelweakly Unfortunately, but the time I went to it, ORA-Arch was mostly buzzword bingo. What was it like in its early days?

I've never understood why boarding early is supposed to be an incentive to gate-check your bag. I mean, if I don't need bin space, I'm gonna be the very last person on the plane.

I haven’t loved the vegan sushi in the Bay Area, but I’ve learned that’s not because it’s vegan but because it’s not fancy enough :) (I’m very spoiled and I only like fancy sushi)

Check out this place in LA!

Recently I read a book about the Chinese community in and around Sacramento. Many of them huddled in smaller, less urban areas because of anti-Chinese violence in San Francisco Chinatown; as well as to flee white supremacists who killed them, at various points throughout the late 19th and early 20th century.

That gives me more perspectives when I read stories like these.

@skinnylatte San Jose, too. Racists burned down the SJ Chinatown in 1887, forcing them out. A lot ended up in LA.

So, had the weirdest Amazon problem this month. I emergency ordered a travel laptop charger for my trip to France because it was the only way to get one in time. It got delivered on time, but apparently the driver forgot to scan it, because it was in the Amazon system as "delivery failure".

For the last month (while I've been travelling) I've been getting email updates from Amazon regarding my "lost" package ...

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

... and while it's easy to report a missed/stolen delivery in Amazon, it's impossible to report "hey, I actually got this delivery".

So, the day after I get back, I received my "missing" charger. Yay 2-for-1 deal, I guess?

I hope the driver didn't get penalized for this.

fuzzychef,
@fuzzychef@m6n.io avatar

@vwbusguy @linux_mclinuxface I'm sure it saves them money overall; I expect an hour of a CSA's time is more than the cost of a $65 charger. I just worry that the $65 came out of the deliveryperson's paycheck.
