2024 game backlog, no. 16 - Tekken 5 (PS2)

One of the PS2's greatest fighters. Hefty, robust gameplay, with a massive roster and a fun story. Bonus Devil Within game is a load of toss though, and the final boss is the franchise's cheatiest yet.

For me: TTT > T3 > T5, still T5 was incredibly strong at release.

T5 actually had new characters that were really fun, whereas 4 was kind of a miss for me, and most other Tekken fans. Both Raven and Feng pictured on the cover felt like fresh air with fun and different play styles compared to the core roster.

@euphoriagremlin I worked in an arcade when this released. It was far and a away my most played cabinet. Amazing graphical upgrade on PS2. If it had a true online feature I would still play it to this day. Maybe fightcade will get it one day ๐Ÿคž

@gamingonlinux apex was always an exercise in frustration for me, and oddly enough I found Fortnite to be way more "fun" despite my initial revulsion. The whole thing just feels more casual and it's really all I have bandwidth for mentally in the fps genre.

Speaking as someone who played doom shareware everyday after school I surprised myself with actually liking Fortnite.

No build is the only way to play, lol.
