Based on the current projections of the composition of the European Parliament, the 2024-2029 legislature is definitely going to be a challenging one.

In addition to Russia invading Ukraine at our borders, a possible Trump re-election that will complicate Transatlantic relations and major energy, technological and climate challenges, we'll now have to deal with roughly a third of the parliament being composed of folks who want to hurt our Union.

The best is hopefully still to come 🇪🇺💓

Today the Swiss Army is landing the FA-18 fighter jets on the highways. It's an exercise to train the pilots at landing on "decentralized" infrastructure in case of degraded airbases.

I still read a lot of "paper" books and take A LOT of notes which often slows me down. My process is to transcribe from the book, there has to be a better way.

Does anyone have any apps that are very streamlined for taking notes while reading on paper & automatic appending to a note?

Update: Actually, Highlighted is exactly that. Capture OCR highlights from books, export a TXT/Markdown/CSV…

Interesting paper from 2018 quantifying the impact of #solarflares on #GNSS systems.

The 🇨🇳 BeiDou system was outperforming 🇪🇺 Galileo and 🇺🇸GPS during solar flare conditions due to more frequently updated broadcast ionospheric models.

Musk just spouting misinformation because he can't stand anyone defending digital commons (like Signal, Wikipedia ... ), and actually do good.

It's really laughable to make any claims like that given the despicable security of X “encrypted" DMs.

Interesting development to follow: Researchers from the University of Basel and the NCCR SPIN have achieved the first controllable interaction between two hole spin qubits in a conventional silicon transistor.

These qubits can be manufactured with FinFETs transistors using "classical" silicon fabrication methods, opening up the path to faster scaling than competing architectures.
