About once a month I wake between 1:00 and 2:00AM and have no luck falling back to sleep. I accept that I'm going to be awake for about two hours per past experience. Then I fall back to sleep around 4.

It's like my body's leap year.

I end up sleeping a little later and have a slightly draggy day. Then my normal sleep schedule resumes. It is not altogether unpleasant.

I tend to block accounts with over 3k followers.
For about the same reason that I stopped watching TED talks after 2010 or so.
The ego boost that comes with that sort of platform alters people's perceptions of themselves.

It's fashionable for "cinema" lovers to trash popular comic book movies as capitalistic money making schlock.

This kills me.

Until 2005, comic books were for nerds, a niche audience, the furthest thing from a core demographic for film studios. Marvel had to make their own studio to get their movies made the way the nerds wanted to.

Spare me the complaints about the mass market appeal of comic book movies. It sounds like sour grapes to me.

Last year on Halloween, a friend told me about this new/old social media alternative to Twitter called #Mastodon where the rules made Nazis unwelcome. I had almost 4,000 followers on Twitter and I was starting the process of publishing my debut novel, but I liked the sound of that.
Today is the one year anniversary of moving. I started with a sunny.garden account (https://sunny.garden/@ewdocparris) and moved a week later to my current instance.

Such an improvement in my life! Thanks all!

I just saw the reboot of Childsplay's redesigned Chucky. I mean, I don;'t get how anyone in a design meeting wouldn't recognize that they had failed. It's a tough job. Chucky was a brilliant character design. But this version is pathetic. They literally had one job.
