Time to start digitizing a new retro manual. I haven't seen a good pdf version of the German SimLife manual yet, so this might be worth the effort. I will upload this to archive.org as soon as it's done.

I just uploaded the entire 1993 "SimClassics" compilation for Commodore Amiga to archive.org. The original SimCity Classic, SimAnt and SimLife as pristine KryoFlux and ADF disk images, including 300dpi scans of all 9 diskettes.

SimAnt and SimLife are German releases, SimCity Classic is in English.

I just unpacked an Amiga version of Maxis' SimClassics in mint condition. Everything looks brand new and appears to be perfectly readable. I also got pristine manuals and quick-start guides. A true classic to add to the collection!

I really, really wanted to have the "original" version of Space Quest I on my Amiga system. Out of curiousity. But I wasn't prepaired for this MUCH RETRO! When this was the latest shit, I was just 4 years old. 1986. Holy cow!

Some friendly fellow just uploaded a good Greaseweazle dump of SimCity for MS-DOS in its originally published version 1.0, from 1989. This single 720K disk image is a perfect addition to my collection.

I just re-run my entire GB/GBC games collection through the "Retro Patcher" to generate GB Studio .pocket files for the Analogue Pocket. Compared to last year, I found 36 brand-new titles. MegaMan World 5 DX, Metroid II - Return of Samus, both in full colour now. And many others i did not previously have. Nice.

I just backed the new Morphcat Kickstarter project!

Since "Spacegulls" is one of my favourite NES games ever, I just couldn't resist to get this as a physical cartridge! Also, the black, holographic cartridge design is really cool!

The Analogue Pocket's screen is just so gorgeous! It's as perfect for monochrome Game Boy classics as it is for the 32768 colours of the Super Nintendo. As an 80s/90s kid, I just can't stop drooling over them!

Maniac Mansion came either on one 3.5" disk or two 5.25" disks. The contents were nearly identical, except for the index file (00.LFL), which mapped which rooms were on which disks so the game could prompt you to insert the right disk when you got to a particular room.

Well apparently the Spanish licensee either made a mistake or had some other issue such that when they shipped the single-disk version, they included the two-disk index file. Meaning the user might be prompted to insert disk 2 at some point in the game.

The workaround? The text on the floppy label: "Cuando el disco 2 sea solicitado, volver a introducir el mismo disco"

Which Google translates as: "When disk 2 is requested, reinsert the same disk"

@aaronsgiles @alexkaiser There was also a version of Maniac Mansion on a single 5.25inch disk. As far as I know, this was the v1 edition on PC, which looked nearly identical to the C64 release.

I just made a small adjustment to the SNES emulator on the Analogue Pocket , so the NTSC "square pixels" mode will fill up the entire screen. On a black model, you can barely see the small letterbox, but on a white one it looks so much better without.

The #AnaloguePocket features a 1600x1440 pixel display. This means, each and every pixel on an original GameBoy or GameBoy Color will be displayed using a hundred! modern pixels on the Pocket. The resolution is so high, you can even simulate the GameBoy's display technology including pixel borders. All of this in vibrant, beautiful colours.
