@dgar I had an art teacher that told me I’ll never be an artist. That really fucked me up and I never recovered. I still don’t feel confident the few times I try to make art.

    is there an etiquette for responding to posts in a language you don’t speak? For example, if someone posts in German and I want to respond, is it ok to just respond in English? Should I not bother responding? Should I use a translator and then respond, if it’s simple enough?

    @2du sometimes I respond in English to Japanese posts. Some really good conversations have come from it. I can only speak for myself but I think it’s better to reach out in my own language than to not reach out at all because I never know who I’ll make friends with.
