The "Recall can't record DRMed video content" thing is because DRMed video content is entirely invisible to the OS. The OS passes the encrypted content to your GPU and tells it where to draw it, and the GPU decrypts it and displays it there. It's not a policy decision on the Recall side, it's just how computers work.

Saw that Microsoft saying it’s a website’s fault if your password gets swept up by Recall if the site doesn’t cloak the password entry field following “standard internet protocols” which completely ignores the accessibility case for showing someone what they’ve typed in to their password field. Pretty sure every password manager lets you do this, and a ton of sites as well.

What a head-in-the-sand take.

If you can't understand why Black people want a community of their own you haven't really understood racism at all.

Calling yourself colorblind is itself problematic as it erases the very real difference between how society treats white and POC folks.

In summary it's a good start but you need to keep working on yourself

Y'know how there's a pattern of behavior where someone says something is bad about the tech industry or community or OSS software or something, and then every single nerd within a 50 square mile radius says WELL ACKTUALLY??

I just realized that if, like, even 10% of them just... Sat down and spent some energy fixing the problem instead of insulting someone for experiencing it, we would've solved all those issues by now

One interesting thing about the war in Gaza is how African countries are leading the charge in calling for ceasefire and/or condemnation. I don't remember seeing much about them in western media previously.

Admittedly I'm not that well versed in global politics but still.

What I find really funny about the whole “trad wifes” thing is that these famous women that portray it on social media are literally working women, their job is to portray this image, that’s how they get paid. And also… I feel it’s underplayed… this is sort of a fetish thing they’re doing. And I don’t mind that. But then it’s so weird for me to see folks taking it seriously. These women are playing a role for an audience (quite specific audience often) to get paid.
