@IanDSmith@mas.to

Decent British guy, way over 18, PhD chemist, professional scientist, published hobby writer (mostly erotica), keen photographer. Co-carer of a delightful dog and two beautiful horses. Pro-humanity, pro-rationalism, happily agnostic.
Very broad-minded, supportive of other's life choices, tastes, hopes and dreams.
Sure we learn more by being open to new things.
Unenthusiastic about all forms of political stupidity and extremism.
Despair of humanity growing up in time to save ourselves.

@RememberUsAlways Worth suggesting that "race" is legally defined in objective scientific terms, including the proportion of specific, demonstrated genetic contributions required to define an individual's ethnicity in an agreed way.

Looking through a window in the bar of the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock, completed in 1822. The stonework in the view is the remains of the cloister arches of the Benedictine Abbey of St Mary and St Rumon, dissolved in 1539.

Exeter Cathedral roof from the North Tower. The distortion of the transept roofs is the result of "racking", the main roof arches tilting towards the west end. Stabilised now, thankfully.

Today is the start of a new phase in my life.
I woke up without a father.
He drifted away peacefully in his sleep early on Tuesday.

If a book is part of Kindle Unlimited, it is NOT free; not any more "free" than something you watch as part your streaming service subscription.

Marketing a KU title as part of "FREE" promotions is utter bullshit.

For UK followers, just in case...

18 June is the deadline to register (you can do this online at gov.uk/register-to-vote).

19 June is the deadline to apply for a postal vote, should you not be able to vote in person on 4 July.

26 June is the deadline to apply for a Voter ID certificate if you need one, and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote (so someone else can vote on your behalf)

A window in the Great Hall in Cotehele, a 16th century historic building in SW England. Below it is a long wooden table set with pewter plates and tankards

The footbridge which makes access to Tintagel Castle far easier and less of a strain on the legs! Also gives nice views of the sea and coast. The original steps are still there if you prefer... I took this photo from the steps.

Finlay is 6 today. As a treat, I let him recycle an Amazon box into papier-mache and shreds... He did get a toy as well, but he always wants to destroy boxes.
