I'm sorry to say that my beautiful boy Mitro passed away Saturday morning. He'd been ill for the past several weeks and under vet care. The vet believes that he was quite a bit older than we thought he was originally. As a senior adoption you never know how long you'll have a cat. I'm so glad I got to spend the last year of his life with him.

If you have furry companions hug them tightly. I gave him everything I could in the last 13 months. He was very loved.

Is it just me or has this Winter (for us northern hemisphere folks) been extra hard? Between headaches due to extreme weather fluctuations, adjusting to my new disability, and a sick cat it's been rough.

I sometimes worry that I overthink and overanalyze everything. I feel like introspection and thoughtfulness are important, but they need to be tempered with kindness and love.

I struggle in that lane particularly. I have never been very kind to myself and it is something I am working on. This year should be a year of kindness, and I am moving towards it.
