I wanted to share some photos from the #Rebel4Life actions, hoping you can see what I see, and meet these strong, committed people.
I'm not in them, for two reasons. 1. I do police liaison so I'm always either right at the back or right at the front, and my high-vis vest ruins the aesthetics. 2. In the few photos I am in, I'm making super weird faces for some reason, lol.
Apple was never going to "save" VR.
We've spent the last decade giving Apple an unlimited runway of speculation and hype to bring a face computer to market.
Instead of doing a better job earnestly and fairly covering the tech along the way, properly educating consumers on what these things can do, now even Vision Pro can't live up to the media's imagined narrative of Apple.
Apple did nothing to earn a DECADE of media support for XR products, but think of all the projects that were criticized for not living up to some kind of imaginary Sci-Fi standard.
"Wait for gen 2 or gen 3 instead!"
Techies expect everyone else to lift off like a helicopter, but Apple gets UNLIMITED runway...

Update: Aktuell wird abgewogen, inwiefern man mit dem Protest an diesem Termin die Polizei aufgrund der aktuellen Krisensituation überlasten würde. Eine Positionierung wird wohl demnächst folgen.

Op maandag 8 januari om 12:00 uur houdt Extinction Rebellion een aankondiging boven de tunnelbak van de A12 (hoek Theresiastraat en Prins Clauslaan). Daarin zal XR nieuwe acties rond de A12 aankondigen, waarin een einde aan de fossiele subsidies geëist wordt. Het mooiste wat ik nu zie gebeuren door die #XR#A12 afsluitingen is dat het grote publiek nu ziet hoe ondoorzichtig onze #politiek nu handelt. En dat daar bedragen aan gehangen worden.
Oorlogen in Oekraine/Rusland en Israel/Palestina. Gedonder in Kosovo/Servie. Extreem rechtse regeringen in Polen/Hongarije. Anti-klimaat in opkomst in diverse landen in Europa. Boeren die ons land vervuilen en vergiftigen. Miljarden naar fossiele wereld.
Het is een drama aan het worden in en rondom Europa. Dit moet een keer gaan klappen want nog 10 jaar gaan we niet redden.
Und wie war nun die Meta Connect 23? Wir haben gemischte Gefühle, sind aber nicht völlig enttäuscht. Eigentlich war es ganz gut, und dennoch neu. Hört am Besten selbst einmal rein!
