I am currently working on #accessibility in #forgejo. And I discovered a problem with focus where it is not possible to navigate the page with "tab", a dropdown makes the focus skip to the end of the page and you end up in a loop.

Can someone recommend ways or tools to debug focus in webbrowsers? I have a hard time to see how the focus skips there. Any hints are welcome.

Thank you.

Where does someone go to try and find reliable, trustworthy web developers (specifically WordPress plugin developers)?

Just searching the web is a total minefield.

Does the US industry somehow discourage innovation in this area?

Now that Safari 17.4 is available, what other new web technology — HTML, CSS, JS, Web API, media support, etc — would you like to see supported in Safari next?

What’s most needed?
What will you use it for?
Or how will it help your team serve your users?

The problem about Firefox forks is they are soft forks of Firefox.

Because they are soft forks, they're still following the upstream, and generally still not going far enough to overcome Firefox's shortcomings.

Someone needed to take the plug awhile ago. Now, I'm uncertain if there is still time.

Linux_Is_Best,

What prompted my rant? I work for Meta and today, the backend, where I do most of my work, is no longer supported by Mozilla Firefox. I do not know Meta's plans for the future, but I would suspect the front end is only a matter of time.

I cannot say I blame Meta. Recently, even the IRS website experienced an issue with Firefox (it is fixed now). But the truth is, Firefox, no longer has the market share to say, "What about us?"

"What about us?" -- What about you? You did not even care about yourself to take care of yourself. You were given feedback, suggestions, and a wave of developers, both, paid and free (open source) tried to save you from yourself, Mozilla.

Needless to say, my anger is not toward all the many websites that in the future will drop support for Firefox. My anger is toward Mozilla and the management team who failed us all.

/end rant

Has anyone tried daily.co as a video conferencing solution?

https://www.daily.co/products/prebuilt-video-call-app/

I haven't done even a quick test. So, this is lazy web shit right here. I'm mainly interested in accessibility.

I found this article: https://www.daily.co/blog/daily-video-calls-and-web-accessibility/

But I've seen this type of marketing before and am curious if anyone has first-hand experience using it with assistive technologies.

Is there a CSS framework that lies between MVP.css/water.css and Tailwind?
With the no class names "frameworks" I find it ingenious that I very quickly have a good-looking page where I can specify the appearance more precisely via a few variables. With Tailwind, for example, I find the helper classes for responsive Flex layout etc. super ingenious. Only with tailwind it annoys me that I end up with markup that is difficult to read, #css #webdevelopment

leobm,
@leobm@norden.social avatar

like button, input etc. which have the same name and which I have to specify. I don't really want that and responsive layout via columns is also not as elegant as in tailwind with the responsive flex classes. Can you recommend something other? #css #webdevelopment

#Idea for loading #WebAssembly #WASM in the browser 💡

On initial load, ship the most optimized wasm bundle regarding bundle size to the client, so that time to interactive is minimal:

https://rustwasm.github.io/book/reference/code-size.html

After initial load, when idle, ship another bundle async, which might be bigger in size, but is optimized for speed and swap the two bundles with each other.
