These are the LEAST expensive wireless microphones I've ever tested. The price is great, but the most important part of a mic is whether it sounds good... https://somegadgetguy.com/b/44r
We're taking a listen to the Saramonic mics in my office and hooked up to my Vivo for some walk-and-talk vlogging!

Rocket wanted you to know this week's vlog is up: https://youtu.be/IeW-Wi-Sc-k (talking about how much traditional printers suck, kitchen gadgets, and LEGO love. Completed at least one small project with Jedi, too)!
Full English, garden prep, and signs of life. BSL version of my #3GoodThings biog entry for today.
These will get better. The video production is a steep learning curve, but hopefully I'm getting the hang of it.
We've only seen a handful of phones handle audio well. We don't need a lot to fix this situation on premium camera focused devices, but companies need to take these features as seriously as they do camera sensors.
Dzisiaj z zupełnie innej beczki. 10 lat temu wytrzeźwiałem i postanowiłem nagrać materiał o swojej chorobie.
I've always heard the phrase "use it or lose it," but it always came across as a word of warning, a cautionary thing. Nowadays, it feels like a threat, and one I'm taking seriously. I'll address the changes I've made to fix things in another video, but for now, here's me, refusing to go gently into that dark night.
A list of five #books we bought here at Hutchins Library, Berea College, that I have checked out for me to read, added to my #TBR
list. This month I also highlight a bonus book that I am reading as of this video for #BlackHistoryMonth.
So I asked Will Byrd if I could re-upload his YouTube videos to PeerTube and he said it was OK, so I created a PeerTube channel called "Unofficial William E. Byrd" and am going to upload as many of the videos he makes to this channel that I can. (We'll see how diligent I can be about that.)
Will recently decided to just create 2 or 3 videos every day for the next year, he is hoping to create 1024 videos this year.
Did you know that staff writer and vlogger @pagesandhope has her own YouTube channel? She updates throughout every week including a Top 5 Wednesday post where she talks about manga!
This week, her Top 5 Wednesday is about siblings in manga.
Ideally I'd like a #lavalier / lapel mic with a line-in and a lightweight #voiceRecorder with expandable SD memory, or a decent wireless lapel mic that can connect to a usb-c android phone (or voice recorder). I have a Zoom already with four xlr ports, but it's really heavy and I don't generally need something THAT heavy duty for walking-around-outside vlogs. If there's a wireless mic that's good quality then awesome, but barring that at least a line-in mic that I can stick on my shirt collar (assuming I'm not filming something topless lmao) and have it pick up decent audio outside, or even during a convention. I'm hoping to keep everything under $200 (mic plus voice recorder) or under $100 for the mic, but I can go a little higher if it's really good quality.
I've tried a variety of <$30 lavalier mics already and they all kinda suck. I'm hoping if I can find recommendations from a real live human who's actually used it, not bought-out reviews from the manufacturers themselves, I'll have better results. Would be nice to have the new mic+recorder sooner than later, but by Vidcon in June at the absolute latest. Thanks in advance!
Last chance if you're a small #creator and you want your content in a "small #creators shout-out" at the end of my new #toplessTopics New Years Resolutions #vlog (hopefully) coming out this week! If you want to be included, please reply with links to your various social media accounts and website, links to your best/most valuable work, and a brief (10~20 words) summary of what kind of work you do (book author, artist, travel vlogger, video essayist, etc...) and I'll check you out 😀
