Hey folks, I freshly migrated from the dead bird site, here's my #introduction!
I'm Pia, living in central Finland. I'm a software developer as a day job. On my free time I love to #travel and I'm an avid #videogame lover, also interested in all #retro and #retrogaming and #arcade topics as well.
In addition to gaming, I do #crafts, especially stuff out of felt. Other noteworthy things are being part of the #lgbtq family, #positive thinker and having a #curious and open mind about virtually anything.
It's my first #anniversary here on #Mastodon! 🥳 Thank you to the generally wonderful community on here. Came for my #science bubble, but because following each other is always encouraged, I discovered a lot more than just that! My feed is more #diverse than ever, and there's a lot less gloominess that became so widespread on other social media. I'll happily continue to share #wildfire and #ecology related stories, and maybe throw in some #videogame commentary here and there 🤓👋🔥
Oh snap, a slice of nostalgia launched on Steam today. Submachine was a series of Flash point-and-click adventure games. Submachine: Legacy remasters the series, updating art, adding some new content, and combining it all into one package.
I rarely buy games at launch, but I'm awful tempted. I'm glad to see things like this or the Cube Escape Collection coming out to keep these classic Flash games available.
For some time now I was thinking about presenting #RetroTrivia not only via pictures but short video clips that don't exceed the Mastodon server's file size limit. 🗄️
Finally I arranged to capture, edit and publish my first video directly here on Mastodon. 📼
When you've got 40 seconds and want to know what going too fast in Sonic can lead to, give the video a try and me some feedback. 👌
Simone here. A professional bassist, sound designer and producer for more than 25 years, I've been juggling between creativity and technical jobs for decades.
Pioneering #GameAudio in the early 2000s, I'm working to go back to the #videogame industry after a long hiatus. I was present at both the launch of Steam by Valve and Game Audio Network Guild, in San Jose, GDC 2002.
I have never been into Beat 'em ups but have some of the classics like Streets of Rage 2 in my collection. 🥊
Are there any titles you suggest trying out although I am not the biggest fan of the genre? 🤔

"BlueSuburbia is a haunted world where you explore poems through immersive environments. Seek out dark secrets, confront your demons, and delve deeper into a dream that dances between beauty and horror."
This #videogame#simulation is freely available in the #Steam store and I found out today there’s a web version. 👍🏻 Haven’t played it at all yet but will now after hearing about it on a #ecosocialism video I watched this morning.
“Try your hand as a global planner of a future society. Play with a wide range of technologies and policies spanning different fields and ideologies. Will you lead the world to ecological utopia or planetary ruin?”
