The time for advent calendars is finally here! This year I got the pure tea advent calendar from Tee Kontor Kiel, and I'll be posting each tea in this thread!
Coffee people are like: you don’t like this super acidic cup of coffee that I under-extracted and roasted badly? Go to coffee jail, heathen!
Tea people are like: I bought a brick of tea called Old Motor Oil. It tastes like it. I am going to drink it alone for the next 15 years and then I am going to break out the brick of old motor oil I bought 29 years ago, to drink older motor oil. I don’t expect anyone else to drink it
I came across this spreadsheet of tea merchants a few months ago.
I rarely buy tea at a grocery store (or even a specialized tea merchant with a store, unless exceptional): most of the time the vendors on this list are just much, much better:
Nooooo ! The news at ten has just said that the UK is no longer a nation of tea drinkers ! Where hsve you all gone and why? I'm shocked as I for one could not function with out my tea. Earl grey is a personal favourite of mine.
Tea drinkers of the #fediverse boost this and tell everyone your favourites. #Tea
I’m at that stage now of befuddlement where I’m rattling around my quarantine zone with a hot cup of tea in my hand and finding a now cold and completely untouched cup of tea which I put down 15 minutes beforehand and forgot about. 😵💫 #Tea#InThePlagueHouse
I want to get uncomfortably into drinking tea but I'm not sure where to start. Do I get an electric kettle or one of those things that automatically infuses at a certain temperature? What style tea?
I've been pondering this for years and still have yet to come up with answers.
Where does one buy/where are you buying your #looseLeafTea of good quality for a decent price, that's NOT Amazon, some other box store type place (Target), or that you maybe even enjoy shopping with?
I'm in the US so preferably a us-based company but that might not be necessary. I just don't like to deal with the weirdness of "importing" & such. Could be in-person or online, although in-person might have a higher chance of not being near me lol. 🤷
Getting down to the bottom of the bag on this Classic Laoshan Green Tea of Shandong (Yunnan Sourcing). Higher ratio of smaller pieces, so keeping the temps low and the steeps short.
Tried panda poop #tea today. I have to say it's a rather average Sichuan black tea.
It's fairly aromatic (brown sugar notes), but falls a bit flat when it comes to the taste.
I brewed it in a gaiwan, got 5 brews, which is good for a black tea. @tea
This morning's agenda: Hang out and drink #tea for a bit. Then go buy the most durable #bike tires I can find. (My route to pottery class goes by a bunch of cut-rate auto shops, so the road is undoubtedly full of glass and metal.) #BikeTooter
Just making an afternoon cup of generic 'dirty chai' and it's giving us flashbacks to a very memorable breakfast at a spot in #HongKong that served great 'yuanyang' coffee a few years ago.
So vivid in our memories! The walk across a small park, the corner location, the upstairs venue. Good times. (2017). Can't imagine a scenario where we'd be back there again, given how it's gone off the rails with the authoritarian takeover. Never is a long time though I guess.
