It is most important to know this is a test flight to find possible issues and confirm engineering choices. Rockets are subject to tyranny of the rocket equation. One has to design light but robust. i can't wait for #ift5 - elon confirmed a catch attempt will be made. having a steady, 3rd-person perspective will be AMAZING. 🤞they can recover the hot-staging ring aswell.

watched #starship#ift4 in class. after the flap caught on fire i turned to a friend and said "well that's ship fucked". had to stop myself from screaming when it continued to actuate 😅

Starship hit the water, mostly intact, I think the flap made it, and landing burn initated successfully. Wow. It looked like a soft landing. I’m…shocked. I was very prepared to call this flight a failure, or a mixed success. I need to go back through the data, but...I think this was definitely a success.
