Only sad thing, I think I ruined my best #skirt. I'm honestly a bit bummed about that, but it lasted a good two years (I think it's been two 🤷♀️) and I can still wear it, just maybe not to work.
Maybe this is a sign I should order some fabric in june and #sew a couple new ones.
Hi! I'm (probably) Ember (trying it out). I also go by Zemri.
#Agender. They/them and neutral terms only unless otherwise indicated. #masc leaning in physical presentation. Been on T for almost 5 months now. Mostly just goblin mode at all times.
#fabric#sewist#sew I have a fabric question. I have 2 yards of nice, light blue wool. I've had it so long that I can't remember where I acquired it. It has no smell even though it is likely very old. In preparing to use it to make the Pattern Easy Dina jacket, I washed it. While wet, it reeked of mothballs. But when it dried, the smell disappeared. My question is, should I use it? Do you have a suggestion on how to rid the mothball 'essence' of this otherwise really nice wool?
Thinking about taking up sewing.. i want to be able to make all my clothes fit me exactly the way i like, and be able to buy more clothes at the thrift even if they aren’t originally my size.
this of course means i would need some equipment and I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations :)
Looks like goodwill online has plenty of options, so if you have any pointers for what to look for when buying that would be…… #sew.. helpful. 😭😂 #sewing
@sewing wow, I'm overwhelmed by the response to the jellyfish basket! For those admiring the print, it’s Just Jellies by Kate Rhees and is available on Spoonflower at https://www.spoonflower.com/en/fabric/7661255-just-jellies-jellyfish-by-katerhees. It was left over from another project where I'd made two tea towels to match a pillow from a local craftswoman. Wish I could remember her name to give her credit too! #sewing#fabric
I am excited to announce that Pandora's Tale Wiki will be participating in Indie Wiki Jam, organized by @tacopill and others.
What is it? It's a two-week event in which everymany is encouraged to edit independent wikis that you haven't edited before, taking place from January 12-26. Here's the main site https://indiewikijam.com/
Five wikis have been announced as participants so far, though there is still time for other wikis to apply. We're one of the participating wikis!
Yeah, aside from us, all of the wikis involved are about video games. That might change before the jam actually starts, as there is still time for other wikis to join.
Finally got around to #sewing a #myog zip pouch after months of procrastinating.
Don't know what material is this exactly, got it in a "by kilo" surprise fabric scraps, but feels like polyester/cotton blend, and the zipper was salvaged from an old handbag which fell apart.
I was tryna make a drawstring sack for someone but I screwed up somehow. So I made this lil' bag. Kinda cool i guess took me like 20mins.
Made from an old duvet cover. I have 3 old ones still so I can make a bunch of stuff. Hopefully I can make something to sell on my ebay, (tried to get an Etsy but it messed u somehow.)
Hey #VisibleMending folk, I have several holes in the lettering around my jumper and was wondering if and how it could be fixed.
I’d like to embroider around it, but the letters are thick & can’t be removed without leaving bigger holes.
I don’t have similar fabric to #sew to either.
Any thoughts?
@CraftyJo I once fixed a similar hole by undoing a hem elsewhere, cutting a tiny bit of fabric out, and redoing the hem. I was then able to use thread the same colour running through this scrap to stitch it into the hole. Result was near invisible.
Hint: get some strong reading glasses, even if your eyesight is fine. It's very close and detailed work.
