I lost track how many times I've rewatched Fringe. I still haven't found anything like it.

I very much feel like I'm one of the few #Trekkies that did not like season 3 of #StarTrek Picard. The first two seasons weren't perfect, but they tried some fresh new things. S3 was just a lazy nostalgia fest. All fan service, no substance. And don't even get me started on the big season reveal bringing back the Borg yet again. Yawn. I'm honestly sad about how popular this season was with fans.

Had never heard of Supernova (2000) until this month but it maybe has the best warp/jump/FTL effect I've seen? Creates its own "rail" made out of energy and then speeds along it sparking arcs everywhere #scifi
Coherence (2013): a tense, innovative #scifi thriller that does a great job of playing with the audiences expectations. The punches don't quite land all the way through, but one of the most original and ambitious #scifi films I've seen in a long time.
One of the most promising mages at the Academy, and granddaughter of the former Governor, had been working on reversing the effects of the Wave on her mother's generation, until she was hit with backlash and horribly disfigured. Her mother immediately disowned her, but the research was said to have never stopped.

Why do I say that?
Gene Roddenberry pitched STAR TREK to DesiLu by saying it would be “WAGON TRAIN to the stars!” A westernish-story, taking place on the lawless frontier.
When he created STAR WARS, George Lucas drew heavily from Kurosawa’s 1958 film, THE HIDDEN FORTRESS. At heart, STAR WARS is Japanese samurai tales in space.
Closing the circle, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is the Japanese film SEVEN SAMURAI, but set in the American West. I rest my case.
So, I'm not sure if/how this will be used in the Alflynd storyline...it could be, but I think it would qualify as simply concept art for things you'd see in the background, rather than keyframe art that advances the story....so anyway, here's a spaceship...I think it's pretty obvious what one of the inspirations for this one was.

I love Delany, but was pretty confused by the ending until I found out it was supposed to be a duology. His relationship with the boyfriend who inspired the protagonist ended, so he gave up on it and wrote high fantasy instead!
