What #RSS feed reader do you use?

Uwu, to fediverse

First Impressions from #Calckey :
Very good!
Import of List and follows works great
Interface is interesting - a little bit to much "Information"
a lot of settings(thats good!)
2FA and HardwareKey function!
DarkMode and themes and much more.
Post Preview
extra place for Hashtags

And I love the "clock" I attached a picture of it:
AltText: Loading Bar Style with 3 Bars(Today 50,3%, Month 71,7%, Year 30,5%)
Fediverse

I miss only two things atm. Maybe i did not find it?

Uwu,

Build in , you find it under widgedts!

Edit only works with Edit and delet ? or am i missing something ?

I can use the Mona App on iOs Testflight to log in to mastodon and calckey accounts at the same time. Easy switching!

OK does anybody know if there is a #FLOSS #XSLT to turn #RSS in #HTML? The recent recommendation of https://mastofeed.com by @atomicpoet (<https://mastodon.social/@atomicpoet/110238494033933343>) made me think that it should be possible to achieve something similar by relying on built-in browser tech and the #Mastodon RSS output functionality.

It's #FollowFriday so I've got a few suggestions:

Even Prodromou, co-creator of #ActivityPub which will revolutionize the web.
@evan

Dave Winer, creator of #RSS which has been a key part of the Web for decades now.
@davew

David Pierce, a highly regarded journalist at the Verge who wrote this week's breakthrough article on ActivityPub (link below)

#RSS #Feeds #SocialMedia

Someone (or me) needs to make a good :rss: #RSS reader for #epaper devices.

I know there are scripts—or even the #Calibre tool—that can download articles as #ePub, but I mean something more like:

🔔 List articles in a pretty interface with thumbnails (kinda like Kobo's Pocket integration), browsable by feed of course.

👁️ Read an article directly online (parsed through #Readability)

⬇️ Quick button to download a specific article for offline reading, and a special downloaded articles list

Eleven intelligence inputs warning of Pulwama attack were ignored

Frontline’s investigation reveals that 11 intelligence inputs warning of the Pulwama terrorist attack of February 14, 2019, were ignored. Who was responsible for the “oversight”, which resulted in the death of 40 CRPF personnel, the Balakot surgical strike, and ultimately the thumping electoral victory of the BJP?

#LinkRot for #podcasts is worse than I thought. The decay seems especially noteworthy for those that use services to obfuscate links to their files.

If people don't want their podcasts to disappear they need to be proactive. One way is to archive your stuff at @internetarchive.

Podcast feeds should include links to backup files but I haven't found a standard element to represent those, either with podcast specific feeds or #RSS in general.

if you're trying to migrate off feedly, here's how to export an .opml file to import all of your feeds into a new RSS reader

"Today, millions of people still use RSS readers, but many times more use social-media sites and don’t even know that RSS exists.

When the primary way we read online is filtered through the algorithms of capricious corporations that can change what we see on a whim, both writers and readers suffer.

RSS is a reminder that it doesn’t have to be this way."

I don't think people appreciate the role that played in fostering the and during the first (when the was still built on their proprietary engine), and a fortiori the role it had in their demise (when they switched to being “just another /‌ skin”), despite their browser never even reaching a 3% market share.

oblomov,
@oblomov@sociale.network avatar

The Opera/Presto browser was pretty close to being a “swiss army knife” for the web. Aside from the with a solid and modern rendering engine with decent standard support (for the time), it also integrated (in the same UI!) a workable client, a decent client, and a competitive reader. The browser itself not only had better support for web standards than some of the competitors (including WebKit) in many areas, but it also put effort in supporting

@oblomov@sociale.network avatar

Again, this isn't about or or or web feeds support specifically: it's about the priority policies.

I do understand and appreciate that even just the maintenance of the engine to keep the pace with the evolution of the web standards is a huge undertaking —it's why so many browsers have just given up and chosen to “leech” on WebKit or Blink instead.

When the only reason to use your browser is that it's the only FLOSS alternative to Google's, you have a problem.

💡 This is a post to help those who want to disconnect completely from Twitter without losing your various feeds there.

Finally, a solution to view Twitter feeds in one place without login... and RSS feeds too! 👍

Read my lips:

An audio show that can only be played in an Apple player on an Apple device is not a podcast.

An audio show that can only be played in Spotify is not a podcast.

Repeat ad nauseam for any other proprietary audio show platforms.

A #podcast is an #RSS feed with enclosures of audio files which are playable across the whole ecosystem of podcast players.

Any reporter who reports on exclusive audio shows and calls them “podcasts” are doing a grave disservice to their audience.

I'm looking for an Opensource RSS feed reader with synchronize option [ Without the Server and Database method].
Any other synchronization method will be perfect (Like hosting some files on cloud storage, Etc)
I don't know if this is even available or not. The ones I found from my search were the same method [You need a server and database to host it].

Hey the #Fediverse!
Today, I have released the version 0.1.0 of my new project, f2ap, an application that adds a compatibility layer for #ActivityPub to your website thanks to your #RSS/#Atom feed!

You can see a running example at @blog! 🤩

Currently, only the support for Mastodon is guaranteed, but there are a lot of other platforms out there. If you are on another social platform, please help me document the platforms support! 🙏
