Thanks #VermontPublic for covering Green Mountain Roller Derby's first home competition since 2019.
I only started boot camp in early 2022. It's been a long road back rebuilding the league. We're so grateful and beyond excited to finally be skating at home.
It took over a year, but I finally ripped a blister in my insole from having skates that are too big (because I HATE tight shoes).
#rollerderby friends - I'm going to try a different set of laces to lock my feet down more, but they slide all over the place inside my boot, ESPECIALLY during/after crossovers.
Any other suggestions before it's "You have to buy new boots" time?
The biggest change in the last few weeks that's helped me is mentally approaching my skates as an engineering system, similar to a bike, rather than a pair of shoes.
It only took me a few years to really, really take that in.
What is something from your childhood/early years that no longer exists and you miss it?
I miss Roller Skating rinks! All night lockins with your friends, enjoying good music, and the snack bar hotdogs and ice cold drink after skating your tail off 🤣
Signed up for my first roller derby class. I am not sure about the contact sport side of roller derby but I want to roll 🥰😍 I want to keep my sense of balance as I age!#RollerDerby#Skating#RollerSkating
The only indoor #skatepark in #Edinburgh and the east of #Scotland is closing at the end of the month to be replaced by a bingo hall. Help us to find and support #skate spaces by signing and spreading the word!!
This one is a really nice pose with lots of movement. More specifically, it’s a roller derby move, with the character caught in mid-crossover, their back skate in the air. It’s one of my favorites out of this whole project.
