Monthly meeting on zoom at 6 tonight. Join us and learn how you can help make #Portland bikeways good enough to handle 1/4 of trips, to meet our #ClimateAction, #VisionZero, and other city goals. #pdxBikes
#PBOT's Disaster Ride at 10am Saturday from Irving Park #Portland#DisasterPreparedness information, what if you have to ride #pdxBikes in the rain 😂, and learn about our Neighborhood Emergency Team network.
How do people get out of the aerial tram if it gets stuck mid-trip? Ride your bike up Terwilliger on Sunday morning and see the annual evacuation test, with trained professionals getting lowered out of the tram as test passengers, scheduled 9am-noon. #Portland#pdx#pdxBikes#transit#AerialTram#FirstResponders
"The Oregon #MotorVoter (OMV) registration law took effect on January 1, 2016, making #Oregon the first state in the nation to implement automatic #voterRegistration [for drivers]" and then they mail you a ballot, but how do we get non-drivers to vote? #pdxBikes#ORpol
#YellowCenterlines give #drivers the wrong idea about how to share our limited street space. This bus driver is giving lots of room, and driving where they would be if #Terwilliger were an #edgeLaneRoad makes for a much safer and more pleasant #pdxBikes experience, even as the bus passes us going uphill. Wider bike lanes and a narrower shared center space would reduce speeds and put the conflict between streams of traffic with matching bumpers, requiring drivers to slow down and pay attention.
Did you miss my ride about #Portland's five layers of govt and #STARvoting on the hottest Sunday of the summer? Come to the Hottest Sunday of the Fall Govt and Voting ride! #pdxBikes#bikeFun#ORpol#pdx An easy ride along the river and back through inner SE, starting from City Hall at 11:30am.
Join me Wed at 5:30 with @bikeloudpdx for a tour of the new and in-progress and as-yet-unbuilt SW #Portland#pdxBikes infrastructure and a few routes that aren't too hilly plus maybe some places without cars. Meet near the playground behind Multnomah Arts Center on SW Capitol Hwy #pedalpaloozaPDX
Monday at 6, Climate Curious and 350PDX host Become a Climate Superhero Ride from Irving Park with costume making (be careful with those capes and spokes!) to #ClimateAction fair at Mocks Crest.
6pm tomorrow (Thurs), join @bikeloudpdx at 16th & SE Clinton for an easy 6-mile ride to study locations from our Bike Crash Report infrastructure analysis project. See how police have phoned-in these reports from behind a windshield, what details are missing, and how design led to the crash. Learn how to measure and effectively document conditions that create safety risks and accessibility issues for people using bikes as #transportation. #pdxBikes#PedalpaloozaPDX
🚲 📣 Join @bikeloudpdx monthly Hack Night this Thursday at SE 11th & Hawthorne for a #pdxBikes ride to some car-on-bike crash locations, reading police reports and reconstructing missing information. We'll also document and report the transportation safety issues we observe at these locations 📏 🤓 such that PBOT must either fix it, or risk getting sued! 🎉
