@enobacon are you aware of the efforts to automatically register everyone on the Oregon Health Plan? There's a strong correlation between non drivers and Medicaid recipients!
@enobacon A lot of non-drivers still have state issued IDs (because "show me your papers" is reality). The two non-drivers I know both do. I'm hoping Oregon includes them, too.

I would hope that non-drivers who go get a state issued ID in Oregon are handled like they are in Minnesota. i.e. My wife goes to the same place I do to get my Driver's License. Almost everything about it is identical, except in her case, she doesn't drive. So it's not a DL. It's just an ID.
And if we had the same law as you, that'd also automatically include Voter Registration - or so I would imagine.
Regularly stock bike shops with registration forms? Send out reminders to register through the Biketown app? Seems like a tough problem to reach everyone. Thanks for raising it.
@ttpphd I think the key with the DMV doing it, is that it's part of the standard form, so you have to opt out or at most check a box for which party primary ballot you want
@enobacon@ttpphd yeah - the value there is that driver's licensing is a state-run identity validation (and in some states citizenship validation) process, and I don't think we want to put a similar process in place in order to ride a bike
@szeis4cookie@ttpphd no we just want to make it easy to register to vote. The DMV also does it for people who get an Oregon ID, but not everyone does that.
