Looking forward to setting up my used #thinkpad with #linuxmint next week. Looking for recos for easy syncing, mainly for my #emacs and #orgmode stuff. What have you used that you could recommend? I do have GDrive working well on my Windows machines, so could go that route,, though not familiar with how to do that on linux. Thanks!
@publicvoit could you explain in some detail (or point to a good detailed write-up) about how exactly this works for you? setting #syncthing between two local machines is relatively strightforward, but you mention multiple machines with at least one server; is the server your cetral storage? what exactly do you expose to the internet to be able do sync from outside your lan? etc., etc.
i'm with #owncloud, but looking for a simpler setup.
@itsfoss I've been using #OpenToDoList syncing to my work's #owncloud server via WebDAV, and it does the job reasonably well. But looking at #StandardNotes, this seems closer to the Google Keep replacement that I wanted. Especially if it will be integrated in an already existing personal #Proton account. And hopefully syncing shared notes/to-do lists to other Proton accounts.

Ein gutes Gegenbespiel ist der #OwnCloud Fork von #frankkarlitschek , der sich bewusst gegen die Kommerzialisierung des Projekts und für den #opensource Weg entschieden hat, der zur Gründung von #nextcloud führte.

Ich werde mit der #Nextcloud und dessen Universum immer unglücklicher. Nix funktioniert mehr. Der Emailclient ist unbenutzbar buggy und auf Bugreports reagier keine Person. Linkfreigaben unbenutzbar für nicht-registrierte, Umfragen lassen sich random nicht erstellen, Collabora spinnt random am Rande der Unbenutztbarkeit. Usw.
Leute, kostenlos oder nicht - so geht’s nicht.
Werde die Tage #Owncloud gegentesten. Schade!
