#NHSScotland really is terrific. Just 6 weeks after breaking my arm, I was expecting to receive a letter giving me an appointment for physio at the hospital. But I’ve just had a phone call from Community Physio advising that they can do a home visit since I’m blind. Not only that, they’ve had a cancellation so can come out today. Utterly brilliant.
PS. I expect a lot of pain, but it should be worth it to get full movement back.
PPS. Don’t believe all the negative spin about our NHS.
If you need to request your medical records from #NHSScotland via your GP's surgery, say in advance of moving to another non-UK country, you may want to do so a couple of months in advance. I tried today & was told it's currently a 6 week wait time & they require me to come in to collect the records in person. Can't provide them electronically & don't trust them to the mail. #FuckTheTories and their gutting of the #NHS.
Ah got a phone call fae ma wee pal up at the surgery oan Friday jist tae say thit that's bin three month awready since a last popped in tae see Igor and wid ah mind nippin in fur a blood drain early this mornin cause they like ther blood fresh oor at Quackensteins Laboratory.
Know whit else ? Ah will git ma standard results oan ma computer by 6.00 the night and the heavy shit results by Friday.
Gaunny remind me again how pish the Scottish NHS is ya lyin, thievin ,corrupt Yoon fucks . #YouYesYet
@bampot the chemists in strommy looked confused at Mrs Settler yesterday cos they said she'd need to see the quack for some prescription or other and in 5 mins she'd walked to the docs, bumped into the GP at reception and returned with said signed bit of paper. Apparently that were quicker than usual!
Healthcare disnae get better than the Scottish NHS.
Just went for my flu jab and the nice nurse asked me about getting the Covid jab too. Explained I live with my son who is on immuno suppressants and therefore clinically vulnerable so yes I wanted the Covid jab, but as I am not over 65 thought I wouldn't be eligible this year. No problem said the nurse and changed my details. Got both vaccines. I had phoned NHS Inform who were no help at all. So if you're in a similar position... #COVIDbooster#covidvaccine#nhsscotland#nhsstaff
There's a BBC Scotland article on the site today that mentions a 7-fold increase in ADHD treatment. Which will no doubt be used by certain folk for their own agendas.
RCPS estimates 37k Scottish kids should have ADHD, the BBC mentions 14k ADHD kids currently known to the NHS. The system is catching up, not diagnosing with abandon.
It’s nice /s to know that people aged 50–65 are once more considered young enough to be able to ‘live with Covid’
Of course, without continuing to vaccinate almost everyone, the vaccination programme only protects those who are eligible – while SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses are free to continue evolving as they circulate freely among the general population 😖
And today the UK press are reporting that Covid-19 vaccinations may be made available privately for the first time, but probably not until next year! 😣
Received this text from my GP via the NHS Scotland text service
Although I do try to set reminders for myself when I have medical appointments, I occasionally screw this up, so I always find it helpful to have official reminders texted to me
I hope the ‘national issue with the setup’ is resolved quickly, as I presume it will affect reminders from services besides my GP
(Also, why are they moving to a new system when it has unresolved problems?) 🤔
What is the point of doctors & nurses joining unions if those unions surrender their members to the risk of disability & death during an ongoing pandemic, & then sell them out for a pitiful 5% pay rise that goes nowhere towards addressing daily living costs? And all this while hours & working conditions are not only poor but actually traumatic?
