Does anyone else use the Dual Display (Arranger/Mixer) setting in #bitwig on a single monitor from time to time? I find it nice to have the mixer and device chain always visible (and context sensitive) while working on an arrangement, and to have the latter always visible as well. On a big enough screen at least, this can be a very comfortable approach for me. #mixing#daw#musicmaking#linuxaudio
why why why is all modern #MixingDesks of a reasonable size equipped with internal fx and usb crappy crap? does nobody understands the need of an old grumpy #analog#dub#mixing#artist !!
You can actually mix down tracks without relying on dynamic processors.
Here's a tip: next time you're having trouble with a mix, ditch all the compressors and limiters on your bus or master track. Just focus on levels and EQ. Cut out any unnecessary peaks and frequencies right at the beginning with a track clipper and some low/high cuts.
By stripping away plugins, you limit your options, which helps you concentrate on what really matters.
Je me suis fait une liste de musique "Électro Festive" hier soir (avec 99% de French Touch pour l'instant 😂). Et maintenant j'ai une soudaine envie d'apprendre à mixer pour en faire un set fluide et agréable. 😶 #musique#dj#mixing
Speaking of reading and learning in #MusicProduction and #Audio, not nearly enough people know about #SoundOnSound. It's a good magazine, with a lot of gear review but not JUST gear review. A lot of techniques and advice, and their books seem generally very good. I am a big fan of Mike Senior's #Mixing / #Recording Secrets for the Small Studio books, for example. A lot of amazing content free online.
Worth checking out the magazine online or via your local library.
I was playing back my latest mix and thinking hmm, everything sounds so crisp and clean and...separated. Guess I'm gonna have to throw some more reverb on this to glue it all together!
And then I discovered I had turned off ALL THE REVERBS. 😂 😬 :catPOWER:
I am a new person joining the #synth#electronicmusic#mixing#musicproduction space here. (probably missing a ton) I am interested in meeting new people to share ideas with.
Is that you? Hit me up, I would love to hear what you are working on.
Одним из больших откровений в записи звука гитары для меня в своё время стало осознание того факта, что если гитара вне микса звучит как понос - это нормально.
I suspect by listening to my composition that it’s possibly a) overburdening certain frequencies/panning areas while others are possibly b) unused and could be used to balance out the sound more. So I have two questions:...
How to visually find missing “opportunities” in the audio space of a song I’m making?
