Last year I bought PlayMaker and played a bit with it, I liked it. I see that even some famous games used it, sometimes as a prototyping tool. I thinking about using it in the next project.
As long as there are no definite promises of fixing policy in place for longer time period by #Unity, all I hear from this recent apology letter is a noodle on ears.
That aside, removing #MadeWithUnity splash screen was a good tactic. You wouldn't want to further upset players, by extension, now would you?
So, the betrayal with Unity is canceled... I can congratulate all the panickers and those who have already started studying other engines. Compromise seems to be the norm, and the logo made with unity can be off even with free use of the license.
