I always love buying CDs or vinyl from artists, especially indie artists. There’s something special about that haptic feeling, it feels more “real” . I have merch, too. CDs, handwritten lyrics, CD bundles. All on Bandcamp.
I spotted @laamaa's post about his new album 'M8 II' on Friday but only just now had a chance to listen -- it's incredible. If you like chiptune or synthwave at ALL, this is a MUST hear (and his other stuff too). The melodies, and the dynamics, the tracks all flow so well. 🎹 🔥
Standout tracks (IMHO) “Lying to Me,” “Welcome to the Truthatorium, A.I.,” “Model Companion,” “Carpinteria Breakdown,” and a weird take on “Blue Tail Fly.”
I never really remember the order of the words in the hashtag #MusicWomenWednesday, but here is my weekly recommendation and the EP that I listened to first thing this morning:
Musicians! Please consider participating in Fedivision this year! I found a couple great bands for my playlists last year, like @negativeplayers and @keefmarshall and I’d love to find a few more! Follow @announce or check out https://fedivision.party for more info
In this excerpt from the new episode of Spotlight On, Irish 'techno-punk' band Chalk delve into the band's mix of genres and how they create a unique sound blending influences from Belfast.
If you need some wild, menacing, herky jerky, often fuzz-drenched music for some energy this Friday, may I present for your ear holes a new discovery from Detroit, FEN FEN.
Fen Fen don't mess around. This self-titled record of theirs is from two years ago. Kinda garage punk, kinda remind me of like, Braniac sometimes? Also a little Briefs or Buzzcocks.
The April single goes to streamers Sunday night and is at #BandCamp now, as a 4-for-1 EP. The A side is angry, listen to that bass line. The B-side is (another) self-mythologizing (not another) polka.
If you have an #introduction toot pinned on your profile that you’d like boosted, #comment “IntroBoost” below, and I’ll give you a #boost to help you connect with the community.
It's Thursday, so you know what that means. #ThursDeath.
SEPTAGE is from Copenhagen, Denmark and they have a pretty cool, grody sound. Their new record 'Septic Worship (Intolerant Spree of Infesting Forms)' comes out tomorrow.
It's messy and weird, but to me, it's also instantly likable. Kinda OSDM, kinda other kinds of metal maybe. Check the first released title track and grab the rest tomorrow!
